The Corporate HR Generalist provides comprehensive Human Resources support for Corporate, Innovation Center, and designated functional North American employee populations. This role serves as a key resource for employee lifecycle administration, Oracle HCM transactions, recruiting coordination, onboarding, timekeeping support, data integrity, employee engagement initiatives, and HR compliance activities. The position partners closely with managers, employees, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, IT, and field HR teams to ensure efficient HR operations and an exceptional employee experience.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Oracle HCM & HR Systems Administration
Perform day-to-day Oracle HCM transactions including hires, transfers, promotions, organizational changes, position updates, terminations, absence updates, and other workforce transactions.
Maintain employee records and ensure HR data accuracy across Oracle HCM and related systems.
Troubleshoot system issues and provide guidance to managers and employees regarding Oracle HCM processes
Conduct periodic data integrity audits and identify corrective actions to ensure accurate payroll, benefits, headcount, and reporting data.
Assist in system testing, enhancements, process documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Timekeeping & Workforce Administration
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee and manager timekeeping questions.
Support timecard reviews, corrections, approvals, and exception management.
Partner with Payroll to resolve timekeeping discrepancies and ensure timely payroll processing.
Recruiting & Onboarding
Coordinate full-cycle recruiting activities for corporate and assigned positions.
Assist hiring managers with job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer preparation, and hiring activities.
Manage preboarding and onboarding activities from offer acceptance through completion of the introductory period
Coordinate background checks, employment verification, onboarding documentation, and compliance requirements.
Employee Lifecycle Support
Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
Partner with managers to ensure successful employee integration and engagement.
Support employee relations activities as assigned.
Employee Engagement & Wellness Programs
Lead and coordinate local employee engagement initiatives that promote Carmeuse values and teamwork
Plan and facilitate employee recognition, community involvement, wellness, and charitable events.
Organize employee-driven activities that strengthen workplace culture and employee experience.
Compliance & Vendor Coordination
Support compliance activities including required training, reporting, recordkeeping, and audits.
Coordinate with external vendors supporting unemployment claims, and other HR programs.
Maintain employment documentation and support audit requests.
Job Qualifications:
BS in HR Management or related field
At least 5-7 years human resource generalist experience, preferably working in corporate setting and in the manufacturing industry with union and non-union employee populations preferred. Experience should be wide and varied ranging from employee relations, recruiting, and compliance.
Thorough knowledge of human resources practices, employment laws and governance surrounding human resources management including but not limited to EEO, OFCCP, FMLA, DOL, HIPAA, etc.
Excellent analytical, cognitive, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with others efficiently and at different levels in the organization
Strong presentation and speaking skills
Excellent verbal and written skills
Excellent computer skills including advanced knowledge of Oracle HRIS, MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint); experience with data entry, running queries and creating reports using HRIS/Database software
Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment and a willingness to try new approaches, adapt to change and learn new things.
Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential information

Annual Base Salary Range of $75,000 – $95,000
