Title: HR Generalist III
Location: Ashburn, VA (In office Monday- Thursday, Remote Friday)
POSITION SUMMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist III is responsible for supporting key human resources processes, and procedures while providing comprehensive operational and administrative support to a fast-paced HR team within a growing and scaling organization. This role oversees critical employee lifecycle activities; onboarding and offboarding, HRIS data management, capturing and documenting personnel changes, and benefits assistance, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and positive employee experience. This is a very visible role in the organization and pivotal to the new hire experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Initiates, coordinates, and tracks weekly onboarding activities following handoff from Talent Acquisition, including HRIS onboarding, welcome communications, responding to new hire inquiries, and providing first-day information.
  • Serves as the first point of contact and welcoming entity after offer acceptance and facilitates and supports new hire orientation programs to ensure a positive onboarding experience.
  • Completes Form I-9 requirements, verifies supporting documentation, and maintains compliant I-9 records.
  • Processes E-Verify submissions and ensures timely completion of employment eligibility verification requirements.
  • Initiates and monitors pre-employment background checks and drug screenings through third-party vendors.
  • Maintains and administers the active contractor roster, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Creates, maintains, makes requested changes and audits employee records within the HRIS (Paycor) to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Processes employment verification requests in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Partners closely with Payroll to provide accurate employee data, including signing bonuses, vehicle stipends, and administration of the Employee Referral Bonus Program.
  • Processes and documents employee status changes through Personnel Action Forms (PAFs), ensuring appropriate approvals, accuracy, and audit compliance.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of HRIS data fields, organizational structures, and system workflows, and applies this knowledge to support onboarding, employee changes, payroll processing, and reporting accuracy.
  • Assists with Performance Management and coaching leaders on best practices
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive employee information and ensures compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned to support the Human Resources function.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 4-6 years’ experience in human resources with a focus on onboarding and HRIS data integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Computer Skills:
  • Experience with Paycor and ADP preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
