If you’re an organised, naturally collaborative person with exceptional communication skills, a consultative approach and the resilience and follow-through to turn opportunities into lasting partnerships, we’d love to hear from you.

Heart Talent is delighted to partner with a long-standing, impact-driven NFP organisation to find a proactive partnerships or business development professional to join their team.

WHAT’S ON OFFER

  • permanent full time role (0.8 FTE considered)
  • salary $120-130k + super
  • Brisbane northside location
  • hybrid working available
  • join an experienced, collaborative and committed team
  • scope and freedom to shape the approach and influence outcomes
  • established activities and programs to take to market
  • direct connection to tangible human and community impact
  • make your mark in a respected NFP brand

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

In this newly created role, you’ll have the autonomy to shape the sponsorship and corporate partnership program, develop opportunities and build sustainable revenue to support established programs and much-loved events.

This role has both immediate opportunity and longer-term potential. You’ll develop sponsorship opportunities around existing activities while building a pipeline of corporate partnerships that deliver genuine value for partners and the organisation over the long term.

Working closely with senior leaders, colleagues and an active, approachable board, you’ll draw on existing relationships and develop new connections. Your ideas and expertise will be welcomed, with scope to strengthen how the organisation identifies, develops and delivers partnerships.

This is a hands-on role with ownership of the full partnership journey, from opening conversations and understanding shared priorities to developing compelling propositions and proposals, securing commitments and growing relationships over time. You’ll bring the initiative to create opportunities and the discipline to follow them through.

Beyond supporting existing programs and beneficiaries, you’ll help diversify revenue, engage new supporters and influence the organisation’s future. It’s an opportunity to make the role your own and build something lasting, with a direct connection between the relationships you develop and the impact they make possible

Key responsibilities include:

  • package and secure sponsorship for established programs and events
  • develop proposals, propositions and pitches that demonstrate mutual value
  • develop corporate and business relationships across Queensland
  • leverage board, supporter and community networks to generate introductions and new opportunities
  • identify, research and secure new corporate partners and sponsors aligned with mission and priorities
  • build and manage a qualified prospect pipeline, progressing opportunities into financial and in-kind support
  • lead partnership discussions and negotiations through to agreement and activation
  • grow existing partnerships through renewal, expansion and deeper engagement
  • coordinate partnership commitments with internal teams, ensuring benefits are achievable and delivered
  • represent the organisation externally, building its profile and corporate connections
  • assess prospective partners for alignment with values, reputation and priorities
  • achieve agreed revenue and retention targets, maintaining accurate forecasts and reporting on progress
  • maintain current CRM records and partnership agreements, using data and insights to improve outcomes.

ABOUT YOU

You’re a natural relationship builder who combines commercial thinking with genuine care for people and purpose. You know how to open doors, understand what matters to a prospective partner and develop opportunities that deliver mutual value.

You’ll bring:

  • a strong track record of personally securing new revenue through corporate partnerships, sponsorships, business development or a related commercial role
  • a consultative approach, with the confidence to initiate conversations, build trust and engage senior decision makers
  • exceptional communication skills, including writing compelling proposals, presenting opportunities and negotiating agreements
  • strategic thinking and creativity, backed by the organisation, discipline and follow-through to build a pipeline and convert opportunities
  • sound judgement and empathy, with the ability to listen, respect existing relationships and navigate different perspectives
  • a proactive, self-directed and resilient working style, taking ownership of outcomes while collaborating closely with colleagues
  • a hands-on, resourceful approach and the ability to work effectively in a small team with limited budgets
  • confidence using CRM systems to document relationships, track activity, forecast revenue and report on progress.

Experience in the not for profit sector is valued, but isn’t essential. You may be a commercially experienced partnerships or business development professional ready to apply your skills to work with a direct community impact.

You’ll also need the flexibility to attend occasional events and meetings outside standard hours, undertake agreed travel and hold or be eligible to obtain a Working with Children Blue Card.
