Location: Birmingham
Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours)
Salary: Dependent on experience
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Corporate Tax Advisory Director to join our Birmingham office at a pivotal stage in our growth journey.
This is more than a traditional Corporate Tax Director opportunity. It is a chance to become a key part of a growing, advisory-led team within one of the Midlands' most ambitious privately owned accountancy and business advisory firms, where decisions are made locally, relationships come first, and long-term growth is the priority.
Working alongside an experienced Partner and Director group, you'll advise a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial businesses, large corporates, private equity-backed organisations and owner-managed businesses on some of their most important strategic decisions. You'll work closely with colleagues across our tax, corporate finance, audit and business advisory teams to deliver well-rounded, commercially focused advice that helps clients achieve their ambitions.
Whether supporting a business through a significant transaction, designing a complex restructuring project or providing commercially focused tax advice that unlocks growth, your work will have a direct impact on the success of your clients.
You'll have the freedom to focus on high-value advisory work, build meaningful relationships with decision-makers and play a visible role in developing the firm's presence across Birmingham and the wider Midlands. We are looking for someone who enjoys being at the centre of conversations, spotting opportunities, solving problems and becoming a trusted adviser to ambitious businesses.
This role offers the platform to make your mark. Alongside leading complex advisory projects, you'll contribute to business development activity, support the growth of the Corporate Tax team and work closely with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver joined-up solutions for clients.
For the right individual, there is a genuine and transparent route towards Partnership. We are investing in the future of our Tax advisory team and are looking for someone who shares our ambition, can build lasting client relationships and wants to play a significant role in shaping the next chapter of our success story.
Whether you're already operating at Director level or are a highly experienced Senior Manager looking for the opportunity to step into a broader leadership role, this is a chance to join a firm where talent is recognised, ambition is encouraged, and progression is based on contribution rather than time served.
The Important Work You Will Be Doing:
Providing strategic corporate tax advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients
Advising on restructuring projects, transactions and share schemes
Supporting businesses through key stages of their lifecycle, from growth and expansion to succession and exit planning
Advising clients on shareholder planning with our Private Client team, corporate structuring and tax-efficient business strategies
Working closely with Partners and colleagues across service lines to provide joined-up client advice
Leading complex advisory projects from initial scoping through to implementation
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, professional advisers and key stakeholders
Supporting business development initiatives and identifying opportunities for growth across existing and prospective clients
Coaching, mentoring and developing colleagues across the Tax team
Monitoring legislative developments and ensuring clients receive proactive and commercially focused advice
Acting as a visible ambassador for the firm's brand, values and culture
The Skills and Experience You Will Bring:
Significant experience within Corporate Tax advisory projects gained in practice
Strong technical expertise across corporate tax advisory work
Experience advising on transactions, group reorganisations, employee incentive schemes and other complex tax advisory projects
The ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with business owners, senior executives and key stakeholders
Commercial awareness and the ability to translate technical tax matters into practical client solutions and to recognise where our other specialist tax teams can add value
Experience identifying opportunities for additional work and contributing to business development activity
Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing team members
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
CTA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification
A growth mindset and ambition to play a significant role in the future success of the firm
