Country Director

Role Description The Country Director at StayOwn will oversee the organization’s operations and strategic initiatives in Cairo, Egypt in a part-time, hybrid capacity, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility. This role will be responsible for setting country-level goals, managing budgets, and ensuring alignment with regional and global priorities. The Country Director will build and maintain relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and local authorities, while representing StayOwn in meetings, events, and negotiations. Daily activities include supervising local teams, reviewing performance reports, identifying operational risks and opportunities, and implementing policies and processes to improve efficiency and impact. The role also involves preparing regular updates for leadership, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in country-level leadership, operations management, and strategic planning.
• Strong background in stakeholder management, partnership development, and external representation.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze performance metrics, and make data-informed decisions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup, balancing on-site responsibilities in Cairo with remote tasks.
• Experience in the hospitality, real estate, nonprofit, or related sectors is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Policy, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
