About Bolt

Bolt is shaping a future where cities are built for people, not cars. What started as an ambitious project of a 19-year-old in 2013 has grown into a global mobility platform used by more than 200 million customers and 4.5 million driver and courier partners across 50 countries.

From ride-hailing and food delivery to scooters, e-bikes, and car-sharing, Bolt helps people move through cities every day. Small, autonomous teams drive this work, combining the speed and ownership of a startup with the scale of a global technology company backed by more than €1bn in funding.

And we're just getting started.

Why join Bolt?

  • Build the future of mobility and help transform how people live and move in cities.

  • Tackle challenges at scale that span technology, operations, regulation, and growth.

  • Take real ownership early. Small, lean teams mean your decisions matter from day one, and you'll learn fast alongside some of the best people in the industry.

Join one of Europe's leading technology companies, backed by world-class investors including Sequoia.

About the role

The Courier Operations Specialist is the analytical engine and commercial partner behind Bolt Food's courier marketplace in Malta. You will own the health of our supply, balancing service quality, courier earnings and efficiency, and help shape the strategy that takes our operations to the next level.

This is not an operational support role. You will sit in strategic and tactical discussions with the Operations Manager and turn data into decisions. We expect you to form a point of view, back it with evidence, and drive it through to execution and measurable impact, owning projects and initiatives from end-to-end.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Data Analytics & Insights

  • Run analytical deep dives and root-cause analyses.

  • Use varied tools (including Looker, Google Sheets and AI tools) to model and answer business questions end-to-end, from query to recommendation.

  • Build and maintain dashboards and models for supply planning, partner performance, courier earnings and unit economics.

  • Translate complex analysis into clear, concise narratives for leadership and partners.

  • Measure the impact of every initiative, scale what works and stop what doesn't.

2. Fleet Account Management

  • Own relationships with some of our fleet partners as commercial accounts: regular business reviews, performance scorecards and joint growth plans.

  • Bring a commercial mindset: understand partners' economics, agree targets and commitments, and align their incentives with the needs of the marketplace.

  • Support partners with initiatives that drive their performance and sustain their growth.

  • Hold partners accountable on service levels and quality, and escalate where needed.

  • Support the long-term sustainability of our supply ecosystem: a healthy balance between fleet partners and self-employed couriers, competitive courier earnings, and a resilient supply base.

3. Marketplace Efficiency

  • Contribute to the courier operations strategy and to quarterly and annual planning, bringing data-backed proposals to leadership discussions.

  • Drive marketplace levers (e.g. courier availability, utilisation, earnings, incentives, supply mix and service quality) to ensure supply and demand balance, understanding the trade-offs between them.

  • Design, test and evaluate initiatives with clear hypotheses and success metrics.

  • Spot structural issues in the marketplace before they show up in the headline numbers, and come with solutions, not just problems.

4. Automation & AI Tooling

  • Spot repetitive, manual workflows across the team and replace them with scalable automations (e.g. Google Apps Script, workflow tools, AI agents, n8n).

  • Build self-serve tools and automated reporting so the team spends its time on decisions, not on gathering data.

  • Use AI tools to speed up analysis, partner communication and day-to-day operations, and share best practices across the team, whilst making sure quality still lands.

  • Partner with Product and Global teams to implement local automations into platform solutions where relevant.

5. Supply Lifecycle & Quality

  • Own the partner acquisition and activation funnel: improve applicant conversion and time to first delivery, and maintain optimal supply levels by zone and time of day.

  • Drive courier quality: define standards, monitor performance and act on underperformance.

  • Design scalable onboarding, training, documentation and eligibility processes.

  • Develop and implement initiatives that strengthen the courier value proposition, improve engagement, and increase retention.

6. Compliance, Fraud, Safety & Public Policy

  • Ensure compliance with local regulation (e.g. DAC7, local employment and platform-work legislation) and company policy, and support the team on regulatory and public policy topics affecting couriers and fleet partners.

  • Detect and investigate fraudulent behaviour by couriers and partners (e.g. account sharing, GPS spoofing, order manipulation), and implement processes and controls that reduce and prevent it.

  • Oversee incident management and courier safety protocols, with a focus on prevention.

  • Detect and investigate fraudulent behaviour by couriers and partners and implement processes and controls that reduce or prevent it.

7. Cross-functional

  • Partner with Global teams, Product and local Commercial teams to launch new tools and features, and represent local needs in product roadmaps.

  • Track competitor activity and market trends, and turn insights into actions that strengthen our courier value proposition.

  • Collaborate with other units and verticals of the business (including but not limited to: legal, public policy, customer support, ridehailing and merchant account managers) to drive industry sustainability and improve service levels.

Why you'll love it here

  • Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.

  • Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.

  • Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.

  • Celebrate 5 years at Bolt with a 1-month paid sabbatical to recharge.

  • Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.

  • Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in-office days.

Some perks may differ depending on your location and role.

At Bolt, using AI daily is a baseline expectation for everyone. If there's a faster, smarter way to do your work, we expect you to find it. You're still responsible for the output, so the standard stays high when using AI tools.

Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don't tick every box, please consider applying!
