Whether we’re organizing in the streets, building innovative technology systems, opening doors for LGBTQ immigrant youth, clearing pathways to education, stopping deportations, or creating alliances across social movements, United We Dream puts undocumented immigrant youth in the driver’s seat. This cross-disciplinary position supports the development of compelling content across social platforms, websites, campaigns, and member materials. You’ll bring stories to life through eye-catching design, functional web experiences, and creative innovation that supports movement building.

You will be a core member of the Narrative Team, collaborating on digital storytelling, design, and development from start to finish — including ideation, user experience design, branding, development, and deployment. You’ll support UWD’s core campaigns through digital content, rapid response visuals, and the creation of branded assets. You’ll also design swag and printed materials for our member base, helping foster a sense of identity, unity, and pride.

You’ll manage UWD’s website ecosystem, including updates, maintenance, and the creation of new websites aligned with campaign and organizational goals. This role requires a unique blend of design intuition, technical skill, and a strong sense of social justice storytelling. You're a detail-oriented designer and a web-savvy builder who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Graphic Design & Content Creation

  • Design engaging static and short-form video content for UWD’s social media platforms, campaigns, and rapid response moments on a daily basis.
  • Create design assets for internal and external use, including but not limited to: social media toolkits, printed materials/flyers, reports for funders, presentations, digital/graphic design trainings for members, etc.
  • Develop branded campaign visuals, merchandise, and materials for UWD’s member base, helping to foster identity and belonging.

Website & Digital Experience

  • Manage and maintain UWD’s website properties, ensuring high performance, accessibility, and alignment with current best practices.
  • Build new campaign-specific or organizing-focused websites and landing pages that support movement goals and user needs.
  • Lead the entire web project lifecycle from ideation to launch—including brainstorming, wireframing, visual/UI design, front-end and back-end development, and deployment.
  • Implement technical SEO and AEO best practices to maximize reach and visibility.

Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration

  • Collaborate with leaders across departments to ensure content is compelling, accessible, and aligned across platforms.
  • Provide design and web development expertise to cross-team projects, including storytelling initiatives, petitions, and digital organizing tools.
  • Collaborate with movement partners on relevant digital and social media needs, especially for campaigns involving multiple partner organizations.

Social Media & Digital Community

  • Contribute to the team’s social media presence and growth by helping ideate, create, schedule, and publish content across key platforms, including writing clear and engaging captions.
  • Support social listening efforts by monitoring online trends, brand mentions, and audience conversations and sharing relevant insights with the team.
  • Assist with managing the social media management platform, including maintaining and updating content calendars and basic performance tracking.
  • Track and complete the organization’s monthly social media metrics and observations to help guide ongoing content and communication efforts.
  • Build and manage relationships with external social media consultants, agencies, and influencers when needed to support campaigns and ongoing initiatives.

Brand Stewardship

  • Maintain visual consistency across all digital and print materials in alignment with UWD’s brand guidelines.
