The Opportunity
UNICEF Canada is looking for a Senior Copywriter who combines exceptional writing ability with strong conceptual thinking and a strategic understanding of brand and business objectives. As a member of The Playground creative team, you'll work closely with the Creative Director, Art Director, and cross-functional partners to develop compelling ideas and high-quality copy across integrated campaigns, digital commerce, CRM, social, and donor experiences. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing big campaign ideas and crafting precise, conversion-focused messaging. You're a confident presenter, a collaborative creative partner, and someone who can elevate the quality of work through thoughtful direction and mentorship. With a heart for storytelling and a sharp editorial eye, you craft compelling content that reflects the dignity of the communities we serve and the integrity of our brand. You'll play an important role in shaping creative solutions, maintaining brand consistency, and helping the team deliver work that is both creatively impactful and drives donations. Experience working in marketing agency-style environments with premium global brands and complex digital marketing ecosystems is strongly preferred.

- As part of the Brand Marketing team, actively participate in post-mortems with curiosity and a growth mindset—leveraging data insights to refine messaging, optimize performance, and deepen audience engagement.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement by actively participating in training sessions, workshops, and industry conferences. Stay informed about emerging tools, technologies, and best practices to support the creative team’s ability to deliver high-impact, innovative work.
- Bring a collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude—willing to pitch in during peak periods to support the creative team with tasks beyond writing, such as attending shoots, assisting with small design requests, or contributing to production-related activities as needed.
