We’re deeply committed to serving our partner credit unions and borrowers with integrity, precision, and a shared vision for sustainable growth.
Join us on this journey as we continue to transform the future of commercial lending.
Your Role in Our Success
Your work will help CBS assess credit risk, identify emerging concerns, and make informed decisions about our commercial real estate loan portfolio. By translating financial information into clear, reliable analysis, you will support our Special Assets team, contribute to credit loss assessments, and help us provide valuable insights to our credit union partners. This role offers the opportunity to build specialized credit analysis expertise while contributing to sound lending decisions and effective portfolio management.
Here’s how you will make an impact:
- Analyze Commercial Credit Risk: Review borrower financial statements, repayment capacity, property performance, and collateral information to support the evaluation of commercial real estate loans.
- Evaluate Property Financial Performance: Analyze property income, operating expenses, occupancy, and other financial factors that affect cash flow and the ability to meet debt obligations.
- Support Credit Monitoring and Recovery Analysis: Help evaluate loan performance, identify potential repayment challenges, and analyze repayment, refinancing, and recovery scenarios as credit conditions change.
- Prepare Financial Models and Analysis: Develop financial models and evaluate different financial and market scenarios to understand their potential impact on loan repayment and collateral support.
- Identify and Communicate Potential Risks: Review financial information for inconsistencies, changing trends, and early warning signs. Document findings and escalate concerns to the appropriate credit professionals.
- Prepare Credit Documentation: Develop financial analyses, credit memoranda, risk-rating recommendations, and supporting documentation used in credit reviews and portfolio monitoring.
- Collaborate Across Credit Functions: Work with Special Assets, Credit Loss, and Client Reporting colleagues to provide accurate financial analysis that supports recovery planning, credit loss assessments, and client reporting.
- Support Process and Analytical Improvements: Contribute to accurate financial data, consistent analytical practices, and improvements to reporting, monitoring, and financial analysis processes.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, real estate, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- One to three years of experience in commercial credit analysis, commercial real estate lending, underwriting, financial analysis, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of financial statements, cash flow analysis, debt obligations, and commercial lending concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to organize financial data, perform calculations, and support financial modeling.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to identify inconsistencies, evaluate assumptions, and draw supportable conclusions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings and explain financial information clearly.
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly.
