Location: Belgrade or Zagreb

We are looking for a highly motivated professional to join Schneider Electric as a Credit Manager for Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia, within the Western Balkans Finance organization.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and business-oriented Credit Manager to lead credit risk management activities across the Western Balkans region. In this role, you will play a key part in protecting company assets while enabling sustainable business growth through effective credit risk assessment, collections management, and cash flow optimization.

Working closely with commercial and finance teams, you will provide valuable insights to support decision-making, balance risk with business opportunities, and build strong partnerships across multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong financial analysis and customer risk management expertise with excellent communication and influencing skills in a dynamic, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define & Implement Credit Policy
  • Implement Group Chart of Approval; ensure compliance with Credit KICs
  • Propose credit objectives (DSO, Overdue%, Risk, BD provision) ; monitor and disclose performance
  • Assess risk: credit limit set up; periodic credit reviews
  • Evaluate potential customers’ creditworthiness
  • Secure Receivables (Insurance, secured terms)
  • Drive cash collection and ensure AR are received on timely manner and based on common agreements
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with the customers
  • Educate and give guidance to the sales team
  • Lead Country Credit Committee
  • IT tool administration : My DSO Manager
  • Coordinate and follow up dispute management (Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payments or accounts)

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Credit Management, Accounts Receivable, Risk Management, or Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Fluent English.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multinational company.
  • Knowledge of credit insurance and risk mitigation instruments.
  • Experience working with SAP system.
