About Us
Globally, energy markets are in transition to a net zero future and the entities within these markets are transforming their underlying business models to ensure that they stay relevant, sustainable and profitable. As one of Australia’s largest energy providers, we are proud of our purpose to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation. Our ability to deliver on this purpose will be dependent on our people.
As the energy sector rapidly evolves with electrification, renewables, and sustainability at the forefront, we are delivering innovative centralised energy solutions to meet the needs of modern communities.
About the Role
As part of the Customer Operations business unit, the Credit Strategy Leader supports and delivers strategic initiatives across credit, collections and process optimisation. The role manages the PowerCurve Collections platform, supports enhancements to credit risk capability across Residential, SME and C&I portfolios, and contributes to cost-out and operational improvement initiatives, leading a small team focused on accountability and capability growth.
Working closely with Technology, Finance, Regulatory and Compliance teams and external vendors, the role translates data and insights into effective credit and collections strategies — owning the controls and assurance framework for credit strategy activities and ensuring accurate, timely regulatory reporting to the AER and ESC.
This is a newly created permanent position, with 7 direct reports, based at Docklands with a hybrid working environment of 2-3 days in the office per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the configuration and ongoing operation of the PowerCurve Collections system across assigned customer portfolios.
- Support credit risk strategy across Residential, SME and C&I portfolios, including segmentation, behavioural scoring and treatment optimisation.
- Identify and support initiatives that reduce cost-to-serve and improve process efficiency across defined operational areas.
- Own the controls and assurance framework for credit strategy activities, ensuring key risk and operational controls are documented, tested and operating effectively.
- Prepare and submit accurate, timely regulatory reporting to the AER and ESC, liaising with Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Finance and Compliance teams.
- Manage vendor relationships related to PowerCurve and collections activities, and lead and develop a team focused on accountability and customer empathy.
About you
- Demonstrated experience in credit risk, collections strategy, customer operations, analytics or a related operational leadership role.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience developing and optimising risk-based customer strategies.
- Experience managing operational systems, decision engines or collections platforms.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the drivers of customer and business value.
- Capability to build strong relationships and work with multiple stakeholders across the business and vendors.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
