- Lead technical discovery and engineering solutioning before sprint commitment; identify technical dependencies, constraints, risks, technical debt, and implementation options
- Translate prioritized product requirements and approved solution architecture into technically feasible, appropriately sized, development-ready work
- Provide engineers meaningful input into solution design and implementation and encourage small, testable increments and rapid feedback
- Lead and enforce peer code reviews for Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations, automation, and other custom development
- Establish and reinforce coding standards, reusable engineering patterns, development practices, and platform-specific technical guardrails
- Manage technical delivery of custom development, integrations, APIs, middleware, data migration, and complex Salesforce configuration
- Coordinate and provide technical direction to vendor and systems-integrator developers supporting the assigned platform; review deliverables and code and enforce Vibrant engineering standards
- Partner with DevSecOps on source control, CI/CD, automated scanning, deployment practices, vulnerability remediation, environment management, and release controls
- Partner with the Salesforce Solution Architect on complex, high-risk, cross-platform, integration-heavy, security-sensitive, or difficult-to-reverse technical decisions
- Identify downstream effects of proposed changes across objects, fields, automation, integrations, APIs, reporting, data flows, security, and dependent applications before implementation
- Ensure system testing and technical regression testing are planned and completed for platform changes, releases, defects, and hotfixes
- Lead technical response to significant production defects and root cause analysis; ensure corrective actions and prevention measures are implemented
- Monitor platform health and identify technical debt, performance concerns, obsolete components, security risks, and modernization opportunities
- Participate in release planning and readiness with Delivery, ensuring technical dependencies, testing, deployment requirements, rollback considerations, and documentation are complete
- Ensure technical specifications, configuration documentation, object/field documentation, integration mappings, architecture decisions, release artifacts, and lessons learned are completed and contributed to the CRM knowledge base
- Maintain state-of-the-art awareness in Salesforce engineering, platform capabilities, APIs, integration patterns, DevSecOps practices, and approved AI-assisted engineering tools
- Collaborate with Product, Delivery, QA, UI/UX, Data, Security, administrators, and other technology teams while maintaining clear accountability for technical implementation
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to communicate complex ideas, concepts, technical decisions, risks, and processes effectively with engineers, management, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce applications, custom development, platform configuration, and enterprise CRM environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop engineers while remaining technically hands-on
- Strong knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow/automation, Salesforce data modeling, security/sharing, APIs, asynchronous processing, and platform limits
- Ability to manage technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements of a Salesforce implementation
- Ability to develop, test, maintain, and support integrations between Salesforce and SaaS, custom, cloud, or on-premises applications using REST APIs, event-driven patterns, middleware, custom connectors, and web services
- Strong knowledge of source control, CI/CD, code review, testing, release management, and DevSecOps practices
- Ability to perform technical impact and dependency analysis and recognize when architectural, security, data, or enterprise escalation is required
- Must be able to write technical specifications, implementation documentation, root cause analyses, and engineering standards
- Strong coaching, prioritization, feedback, problem-solving, and people-management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines while working in an evolving, complex, and fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications:
