We are hiring a CRO Strategist with at least 2 years of hands-on experience running tests on Shopify. You will work directly with our current clients, auditing their stores, building testing roadmaps, launching tests, and reporting on results. For anything more sophisticated, you will write the briefs and project manage our design and dev teams through launch. The bigger part of the job is building the practice. We already offer CRO, but it needs structure, so you will create the repeatable system every client goes through, from intake to audit to roadmap to quarterly readout. This is a ground-floor role, and as the practice grows you will help shape the team around it. We are open to either an employee or a contractor, and we are looking for someone who loves both the analysis and the client conversation, and wants to build something rather than inherit it.
About Sticky Digital
Sticky Digital is a Klaviyo Platinum Partner and a retention-only agency for DTC ecommerce brands. We run email, SMS, and lifecycle programs for beauty, wellness, food and beverage, and apparel brands, and we are known for doing a small number of things really well. Conversion rate optimization is one of the services we offer our clients, and we are ready to turn it from something we do into something we do the same excellent way every time.
About the role
We need a CRO Strategist who can do the work and build the system. You will be hands-on with our current clients’ Shopify stores while also designing the process every Sticky CRO client goes through, from the first audit to the quarterly readout. We have offered CRO as a practice but we need a fresh set of eyes to give it structure, momentum, and a point of view. This is a ground-floor role with a real runway: as the practice grows, you will help shape the roles that grow around you.
What you will do
Run CRO for current clients
- Audit client Shopify stores and identify the highest-impact conversion opportunities using quantitative and qualitative data
- Build and maintain a prioritized testing roadmap for each client, tied to their business goals and traffic reality
- Write test hypotheses, define success metrics, and calculate sample size and test duration
- Launch and QA tests in the client’s testing tool, and implement simpler tests yourself
- Analyze results, call winners and losers with confidence, and document what we learned
- Present findings and recommendations to clients in plain language, on calls and in written reports
Work with design and development
- Write clear test briefs for our designers and developers
- Project manage design and dev work for more sophisticated tests, including timelines, handoffs, QA, and launch
- Partner with our internal design team and our dev partners to ship tests on Shopify without breaking the store
Build the practice
- Create the repeatable Sticky CRO system: intake, audit, roadmap, test execution, reporting, and ongoing optimization
- Develop playbooks, templates, and documentation so any producer or future CRO hire can run the process
- Define service tiers, deliverables, and reporting standards with our leadership team
- Help our producers and exec sponsors spot CRO opportunities in existing accounts and talk about them confidently
- Recommend how the practice should grow, including future roles, tools, and partners
What you bring
Required
- At least 2 years of hands-on CRO experience, agency or in-house
- Experience running A/B and multivariate tests on Shopify or Shopify Plus stores
- Working knowledge of testing tools such as Intelligems, Shoplift, Convert, VWO, Optimizely, or similar
- Comfort with analytics and behavior tools such as GA4, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or similar
- Proven ability to build a testing roadmap and prioritize using a framework like ICE or PIE
- Strong statistical fundamentals: significance, sample size, and knowing when a test result is or is not trustworthy
- Experience writing clear CRO reports and presenting results to clients or stakeholders
- Experience project managing design and development work, including briefs, QA, and launch
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong ownership and organization, and comfort working independently in a remote team
Nice to have
- Experience building or scaling a CRO program or service offering
- Familiarity with Shopify theme and Liquid basics, enough to evaluate dev work and implement simple changes
- Experience with post-purchase, subscription, loyalty, or checkout optimization
- Understanding of how email, SMS, and on-site experience work together
- Experience with Asana or similar project management tools
What success looks like
- In your first 90 days, you have audited and built roadmaps for your assigned clients and launched your first tests
- Within 6 months, Sticky has a documented CRO system with templates, a standard reporting format, and a clear client journey
- Over the following year, the practice runs consistently, clients can see the results, and we are ready to grow the team around it
Who thrives here
Someone curious and opinionated who backs their recommendations with data, enjoys both the analysis and the client conversation, and gets energy from building something rather than inheriting it. You are comfortable owning the details and explaining the why.
How to apply
Send your resume and a short note about a test you ran that did not go the way you expected and what you learned from it. If you have a sample CRO report or roadmap you can share, even better.
