About the Role

We are looking for an experienced CTO Developer Platforms (DevP) Tech SME to join the Developer Platforms team within the Chief Technology Office (CTO).

The team builds solutions that enhance the engineering experience by improving controls, compliance and technology standards across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a large-scale application enhancement, upgrade and rollout programme impacting thousands of users globally.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal technology teams, business stakeholders, product owners, development teams and third-party vendors to understand business requirements, define technical solutions and drive end-to-end project delivery.

The role requires a proactive professional with strong technical understanding, excellent stakeholder management skills and experience delivering complex technology transformation initiatives within a global, matrix-managed environment

• Support the CTO Developer Platforms programme by planning, mobilising and delivering technology initiatives from project definition through to closure.
• Work closely with delivery managers and product owners to ensure alignment with the wider Developer Platforms change portfolio.
• Engage with technology teams and business stakeholders to understand customer challenges, business needs and project requirements.
• Collaborate with developers and technical leads to identify appropriate solutions and delivery options.
• Translate business and technical requirements into clear functional specifications, technical requirements and Agile user stories.
• Prepare acceptance criteria, process flows, functional documentation and system design specifications.
• Work with internal teams and third-party vendors to develop feasible delivery plans and implement application enhancements.
• Analyse existing systems, application dependencies and potential impacts of technology changes.
• Coordinate application migrations, upgrades, testing, reconciliation and transition activities.
• Oversee testing activities, validate results and support sign-off before production go-live.
• Manage release planning, implementation support, handover and transition to Business-as-Usual (BAU).
• Support business users and technology teams through change adoption, knowledge transfer and presentations.
• Monitor project progress, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies, providing regular status reports and updates.
• Proactively identify delivery challenges and drive solutions while balancing scope, timelines, resources and expected outcomes.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Technical Architecture & Engineering

• Strong understanding of software engineering and design architecture.
• Experience with architectural diagrams, architecture patterns and styles.
• Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices-based architecture.
• Experience working with system and application migrations, including cloud-related migrations.
• Experience working with APIs and API/web application development teams.
• Ability to understand technical designs, application dependencies and system impacts.

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience gathering explicit and implicit requirements from business users, sponsors and technology stakeholders.
• Ability to translate ideas and business needs into clear, understandable requirements and specifications.
• Experience documenting functional specifications, Agile user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of process flow diagrams and functional design documentation.

Project & Technology Delivery

• Experience managing technology project teams in a matrix environment, including third-party vendor resources.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and delivery best practices.
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC), application rollout and adoption.
• Experience managing testing, migration, reconciliation, release support and transition to BAU.
• Ability to manage project progress, risks, issues, dependencies and stakeholder reporting.
