HAYLO People are experts in Personal Injury and General Insurance recruitment. We are partnered with a major insurer in the CTP space who are expanding their market share and who are seeking experienced a CTP Disputes Specialist to join their team in Sydney. Flexible working 2 days in the office, and 3 from home.

We are in a position where we can provide legal specialist a step away from billiables + practice into the world of insurance or experienced CTP Senior Case Managers that step up into a in house disputes role.

As a CTP Internal Review Specialist you will have the opportunity to review complex matters, provide technical guidance, prepare PIC submissions and represent the organisation at hearings, while using your knowledge of legislation, case law and claims strategy to influence better decision-making across the wider claims function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage internal and external legal disputes across the CTP portfolio, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Prepare Internal Review Determinations, assessing evidence and providing clear outcomes on disputed matters.
  • Prepare written submissions for Personal Injury Commission (PIC) applications and represent the organisation at PIC hearings.
  • Assess internal review requests and determine whether matters fall within the jurisdiction of the Internal Review Team and PIC.
  • Provide technical recommendations to claims teams following internal reviews, supporting better decision-making and PIC preparation.
  • Monitor legislative changes, case law and PIC determinations, applying insights to claims decision-making and process improvements.
  • Contribute to governance, risk management, technical excellence and continuous improvement across the Personal Injury Division.
  • Identify and escalate significant scheme matters or decisions presenting potential reputational risk
Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working on CTP files, or CTP case management.
  • Strong understanding of CTP legislation. Personal Injury or Liability Insurance experience would be a nice to have but not required.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Driven to want to help, develop and coach case managers, with prior mentoring experience.
