Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role based in Palmerston North, with some flexibility to work from home. The Customer Service and Sales Support Officer will respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and online channels, providing accurate product information and order guidance. Daily responsibilities include processing quotes and orders, coordinating delivery details, maintaining customer records, and supporting the sales team with administrative tasks. The role also involves assisting with inventory checks, preparing sales materials, and updating product information on internal systems or online platforms. The Officer will collaborate closely with nursery and logistics teams to ensure a smooth customer experience from initial contact through delivery.


Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills, including professional phone and email etiquette and the ability to build positive relationships with diverse customers.
  • Sales support and administration capabilities, such as experience with order processing, quoting, data entry, and maintaining accurate customer records.
  • Basic digital and office technology proficiency, including familiarity with CRM or order management systems, spreadsheets, and standard office software.
  • Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple requests, and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Interest in horticulture, landscaping, or nursery operations; prior experience in a plant nursery, agriculture, or related industry is an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, collaborating on-site with nursery staff while managing some tasks independently from home.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate information and a high standard of customer care.
  • Relevant qualification or experience in customer service, sales support, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
