Did you know that HEINEKEN own over 2,400 pubs in the UK? HEINEKEN has a long-held belief that pubs are an integral part of British culture and that well-invested pubs, run by skilled operators can prosper and thrive. As the nation’s leading pub, cider and beer company and the name behind a host of brilliant brands, we’re looking for equally brilliant people to help us on our journey to building a better future.
Part of building a better future is supporting our lessees, ensuring they have the right tools to build their businesses and play an important part in their thriving communities. This would be impossible without gold-star colleagues who care about people, account management and everything we stand for.
There’s so much more to HEINEKEN than meets the eye and right now, we’re looking for an a Customer & Supplier Billing Co-ordinator to join our Star Pubs team!
About the Team
Our Star Pubs Central Operations team works with colleagues across Finance, Property, Supplier Management and the wider business to support our pubs and licensees.
The Customer & Supplier Billing team looks after customer accounts, supplier invoices and payments, helping make sure the numbers are right, queries are dealt with and the financial processes behind our pubs run as they should.
About the Role
Reporting to the Customer & Supplier Billing Team Manager, you'll help keep billing across Star Pubs running smoothly, making sure customer accounts and supplier invoices are accurate, queries are resolved and payments are managed correctly.
You'll work with colleagues across Finance, Property, Supplier Management and our field teams, as well as customers and external suppliers. A big part of the role is taking ownership of issues, getting to the bottom of discrepancies and making sure they don't keep cropping up.
You'll also help monitor supplier performance, produce reports and spot ways to improve our processes, making life easier for the people who rely on the team.
So, what will you be doing? Here are some key accountabilities:
- Customer billing and queries: Maintaining accuracy in recharging operators for supplier billing as well as handling queries around utilities, Sky, TNT, Stock takers, and various other suppliers.
- Supplier invoices and payments: Checking and validating invoices, investigating discrepancies and supporting payment activity for 30+ suppliers across the estate.
- Accuracy and controls: Keeping account information up to date and making sure billing and payment activity follows the right processes, contracts and policies.
- Supplier performance: Monitoring service levels, investigating issues and working with Supplier Management to get things back on track.
- Reporting: Producing reports and dashboards to help the team understand performance, spot issues and keep on top of service levels.
- Working with others: Building good relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers to resolve issues and keep things moving.
- Systems and improvements: Maintaining work instructions for Business Central, supporting purchase orders and vendor management, and looking for practical ways to improve how we work.
You'll also support projects and other activities as needed, so there's plenty of opportunity to get involved beyond the day-to-day billing.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll be organised, analytical and comfortable working with numbers, with a real eye for detail and accuracy. You’ll enjoy investigating issues, finding solutions and making sure queries are resolved properly rather than simply passed on.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence building relationships across different teams and with external suppliers.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach and an interest in finding better ways of working.
You’ll be comfortable taking ownership of your workload while contributing positively to a collaborative team. Experience with systems such as Business Central would be useful, but the key is having the right approach, a willingness to learn and the confidence to work with different stakeholders to resolve issues.
If you’re someone who enjoys getting to the bottom of a problem, keeping things on track and making a practical difference to how a business operates, this could be your next move.
We embrace learning and growth, and we anticipate there is scope to develop in this role. You’re also likely to bring experiences to this role that are not listed above – as long as you have a thirst for learning and development, not every box needs to be ticked regarding skillsets.
Our Benefits
As part of the team, along with your salary, you’ll also receive;
- An annual bonus
- Company funded Private Medical Healthcare
- Double matched pension (up to 10%)
- 35 days holiday
- A monthly case of our delicious ciders and beers! (low and no alcohol options available)
- Comprehensive Opportunities to develop- We've just launched our Star Skills Playbook which has a comprehensive development programme for every role in Star Pubs so the world is your oyster once you join!
You’ll also get the opportunity to get involved with one of our colleague networks where groups of colleagues from all over the business work together to ensure we’re always working towards being a diverse and inclusive company.
