As a Customs Compiler / Classifier, you'll play a key role in the customs clearance process by compiling and reviewing import documentation, researching tariff classifications, preparing customs entries for broker review, and coordinating with customers, government agencies and logistics partners to ensure timely and compliant cargo clearance.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you'll maintain accurate records, support customs compliance requirements, and contribute to delivering exceptional service outcomes for our customers.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Review and validate commercial invoices, packing lists, transport documentation and clearance records.
- Compile and prepare customs entries for authorised broker review and lodgement.
- Research and recommend tariff classifications, customs valuations and applicable duty rates.
- Coordinate biosecurity and DAFF clearance requirements.
- Liaise with customers, freight forwarders, transport providers and government agencies to resolve documentation or cargo issues.
- Maintain accurate records in CargoWise One and other approved systems.
- Ensure shipments are cleared within agreed timeframes and service expectations.
- Monitor regulatory, tariff and biosecurity updates to maintain compliance.
- Experience in customs compilation, customs classification, freight forwarding or import operations is highly desirable.
- Experience with customs systems, particularly CargoWise, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of HS Codes, customs valuation principles and customs legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Applicants studying towards an Australian Customs Broker qualification are encouraged to apply.
- DAFF biosecurity experience or accreditation will be highly regarded.
