At Kramp we help shape and strengthen our excise duty processes across Europe. In this role, you combine specialist knowledge with a hands-on approach. You will ensure compliance, advise on international goods flows and help build a clear and future-proof way of working across our organisation.

Your role

As our Excise Duty Specialist, you will be the point of contact for excise-related matters and work closely with colleagues across countries and functions. You will combine day-to-day operational activities with opportunities to improve and professionalise our processes.

Your specific tasks include:

  • Ensuring compliance with European and local excise legislation
  • Advising on excise‑related aspects within international goods flows
  • Improve processes and controls: Identify risks and opportunities and develop practical procedures, documentation and controls to make our excise processes more efficient and future-proof.
  • Prepare for and support audits, inspections and interactions with customs and tax authorities, acting as a knowledgeable point of contact.
  • Help establish the structure and ways of working for excise-related activities and identify improvement opportunities across the logistics teams in the Netherlands and Germany.

You will oversee complex topics from a broad perspective, while also being comfortable diving into the details when accuracy is essential. As the structure is still developing, you will have the opportunity to help shape processes and determine effective ways of working.

Your team

You will join an international compliance team working across the Netherlands and Germany. You will work closely with six colleagues in Germany and become the dedicated specialist in the Netherlands.

Who are you?

For this role, we have a few key requirements:

  • Excise and customs expertise: You have relevant experience in customs, compliance or a related field, with demonstrable knowledge of excise duties. Relevant experience in excise duties, EMCS, energy products, mineral oils or lubricants is a strong advantage.
  • Regulatory and classification knowledge: You have good practical and theoretical experience in classification and demonstrated education, and are able to read, understand and translate excise legislation.
  • Analytical and structured: You can work with complex regulations, identify risks and opportunities, and bring structure to processes that are still being developed. Develop practical procedures, controls and master data checks to reduce risks.
  • Strong communicator and connector: You can explain complex topics clearly, collaborate across different teams and confidently advise or challenge stakeholders when needed. You can move easily between various layers in the organisation and are diplomatic, convincing and self-starting.
  • International mindset: You enjoy working across countries and disciplines. English is required; Dutch and/or German is an advantage. Affinity with software solutions and cross-border excise transactions is a plus.
  • Broader customs and trade compliance focus: Your experience extends beyond excise to broader group customs and trade compliance, with an extra layer of risk mitigation in the excise area.
