Cyber Security Specialist

Role: Executive Information Security Consultant (OT)

Location: Glasgow or London, hybrid

Salary: £75,000 to £85,000

Pulse Group is working exclusively with a well-established technology consultancy on a senior OT security role within their cyber consulting team.

About the role

Energy and critical infrastructure clients are asking for more OT security support than ever, as the Cyber Assessment Framework comes in and more operators make Cyber Resilience Audit submissions. You'll join as the senior OT specialist, leading client work and helping the wider team build its OT knowledge.

What you will do

• Lead OT risk and compliance assessments on client sites against IEC 62443 and the CAF
• Carry out Cyber Resilience Audits for operators of essential services
• Act as security manager for an energy sector client, a few days each month
• Advise on IT and OT network segmentation using the Purdue model and a layered approach
• Produce information security strategies and ISO 27001 assessments
• Design and run business continuity and rehearsal exercises in OT environments
• Coach junior consultants on energy clients and how OT controls work
• Turn assessment findings into follow on work alongside the cyber business development lead

What you will bring

• Experience working in an operational technology environment, ideally energy or utilities
• Applied knowledge of IEC 62443 and the Cyber Assessment Framework
• Enough technical depth on OT systems, networks and segmentation to test what a client tells you
• An instinct for why safety and availability shape every OT control
• The confidence to build trust with senior stakeholders you have never met
• Enjoyment in coaching colleagues and explaining OT risk in plain terms

Nice to have

• CISSP or CISM, and IEC 62443 certification
• NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-82, CIS Controls or ISO 27001
• Proposal and tender writing
• Experience working with CISOs, CIOs and CTOs

Working pattern

A mix of remote work, office days and visits to client sites, some of them in remote locations. A security check is required given the nature of some clients' industries.
