Cybersecurity Engineer

Currently, we are looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join a public sector project. The ideal candidate will combine strong cybersecurity expertise with hands-on experience in infrastructure, cloud environments, DevSecOps practices, and service reliability.

You will work as a senior technical specialist responsible for supporting critical cybersecurity services, improving security platforms, managing technical operations, and collaborating with multiple teams to deliver secure and reliable solutions.de security solutions based on Microsoft's security best practices, Zero Trust principles, and Identity & Access Management (IAM).

Project information:

• Location: 100% remote
• Type of employment: B2B contract
• Remuneration: 140 - 160 PLN net + VAT per hour on B2B
• Project languages: Polish and English

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather and analyze business requirements, define technical solutions, and coordinate service changes with internal teams, stakeholders, and service consumers.
• Act as a Service Owner or Service Delivery Manager for assigned technical services, taking ownership of service strategy, evolution, and daily operations.
• Operate as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for critical technical services, ensuring reliability, performance, and security of platforms.
• Manage and troubleshoot underlying infrastructure, operating systems, container environments, networking components, and security platforms.
• Lead and participate in incident management and problem management activities, including root cause analysis and service improvement initiatives.
• Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions and security engineering processes.
• Contribute to technical projects involving:
  • infrastructure development,
  • solution architecture,
  • custom software development,
  • security platform customization and integration.
• Configure and maintain cybersecurity tools and platforms used within the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC).
• Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines following corporate standards, including:
  • security testing integration,
  • source code analysis,
  • automated infrastructure provisioning,
  • application deployment automation,
  • rollback strategies.
• Configure and manage GitLab Runners for different project requirements and deployment models.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to continuously improve automation, security posture, and operational processes.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure engineering, DevSecOps, or related technical domains.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, security engineering practices, and secure software delivery.
• Experience with infrastructure and platform operations, including:
  • Linux/Windows environments,
  • networking concepts,
  • container technologies,
  • cloud platforms.
• Practical experience with DevSecOps methodologies and integrating security into CI/CD processes.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • GitLab CI/CD pipelines,
  • GitLab Runners,
  • automated deployments,
  • infrastructure automation.
• Experience with container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, or similar) is an advantage.
• Experience with cybersecurity platforms and tools (SIEM, vulnerability management, endpoint security, application security, etc.) is preferred.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in an international environment.
• Fluent English is required; French or Luxembourgish is an advantage.

Nice to have:

• Experience working in public sector or highly regulated environments.
• Experience with Security Operations Centres (SOC/CSOC).
• Knowledge of IT service management practices (ITIL).
• Experience with cloud security (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience with security automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
