Job Description
This is a remote position.
MasonBlue Security is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Skills Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive cybersecurity training programs to a diverse audience. The trainer will utilize their deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices to educate and empower individuals and organizations to safeguard their digital assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Training Programs
: Design and develop engaging and effective cybersecurity training curricula for various levels of learners, including beginners, intermediate, and advanced users.
Deliver Training Sessions
: Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, and seminars on various cybersecurity topics such as threat detection, incident response, security compliance, and ethical hacking.
Assess and Evaluate
: Create assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of training programs and the progress of participants. Provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Stay Updated
: Keep abreast of the latest trends, tools, and best practices in cybersecurity. Continuously update training materials to reflect the most current information and techniques.
Customize Training
: Tailor training programs to meet the specific needs of different organizations and industries. Provide one-on-one coaching and support as needed.
Resource Development
: Develop and maintain training resources such as manuals, guides, and online courses. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and tools to enhance learning experiences.
Collaboration
: Work closely with other trainers, cybersecurity experts, and stakeholders to ensure training programs are aligned with industry standards and organizational goals
Requirements
Educational Background
: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are highly desirable.
Experience
: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with a strong background in training and education.
Technical Skills
: Proficiency in cybersecurity tools and technologies, including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, SIEM, and vulnerability assessment tools.
Communication Skills
: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Training Skills
: Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and delivering engaging training sessions. Familiarity with e-learning platforms and virtual training tools.
Analytical Skills
: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to assess training needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
Soft Skills
: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with specific cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
Familiarity with programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
Experience in developing and implementing security awareness programs.
