Our client, an international real estate investment, development and management company, is looking for an experienced Cost Manager to support construction budgeting and project preparation in Prague or Plzeň.
Cost Manager - Construction

/Prague or Plzeň-Based/
About the Role
Turn drawings and project requirements into clear, reliable budgets. You will prepare estimates from the early stages through to construction, with a particular focus on client upgrades and renovations. Working with project managers, designers and procurement colleagues, you will check quantities, compare offers and explain the costs behind project decisions.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates and detailed budgets, setting out quantities, unit rates and a clear breakdown of construction costs.
  • Build and check bills of quantities, including where design information is incomplete; identify missing scope, discrepancies and cost risks.
  • Review drawings and technical documentation with designers and project teams to clarify what needs to be priced.
  • Compare supplier and subcontractor quotations, support procurement tenders and lead supplier selection for contracts within the company’s approval limits.
  • Present and explain pricing for client upgrades, renovations and changes.
  • Work with project managers, Business Development and Controlling to prepare and update budgets and keep cost information consistent.
  • Maintain unit-rate data using current quotations and actual project costs; share pricing and supplier knowledge with other regional teams.
Requirements
  • At least five years of relevant experience in construction cost estimating, budgeting or pre-construction preparation.
  • Secondary-level education in construction as a minimum; a relevant university degree is an advantage.
  • Confident reading construction drawings and working with technical documentation, quantities and cost calculations.
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel, with working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Project.
  • An accurate, proactive approach, clear communication and willingness to learn.
  • Fluent Czech. English is not required.
Client Offers
  • An office base in Prague or Plzeň, with four days in the office and one day working from home each week.
  • A role combining construction cost planning, tender support and direct cooperation with project teams and clients.
