What you’ll do

  • Shape the strategy: develop our data and AI strategy and roadmap, aligned with our business and IT strategy.
  • Design the architecture: define our target data architecture and the standards for data integration, storage, modelling and access.
  • Build the platform: design a central data platform (data warehouse or lakehouse) and build it step by step, prioritised by business value.
  • Create a single source of truth: define data models, KPIs and master data together with our business units.
  • Establish data governance: set up data ownership, data quality rules, metadata and access management.
  • Connect the systems: design and oversee the interfaces between our source systems and the data platform.
  • Bring AI to life: identify, evaluate and prioritise AI use cases, then take the best ones from proof of concept to stable operation.
  • Stay compliant: make sure our solutions meet GxP, GDPR, EU AI Act and information security requirements.
  • Steer partners: select technologies and external partners and lead implementation projects.
  • Build know-how: advise management, train key users and grow data and AI skills across the organisation.

What you bring

  • A degree in computer science, data science, business informatics, engineering or a related field
  • Several years of experience in data architecture, data engineering or BI, including designing and implementing data platforms
  • Solid knowledge of modern data architectures (data warehouse, lakehouse, data mesh) and cloud data platforms
  • Strong skills in data modelling, data integration (ETL/ELT, APIs) and SQL
  • Practical knowledge of machine learning and generative AI (e.g. large language models), including their limits and risks
  • Experience with data governance, master data management and data quality
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools and with enabling self-service analytics
  • Knowledge of data protection and information security; experience in regulated environments (e.g. GxP) is a plus
  • Experience leading projects and managing external partners
  • The ability to turn business needs into architecture, and to explain complex topics clearly to non-technical colleagues
  • Very good English; German is a plus
  • A structured, hands-on and independent way of working
