Your role
We are looking for a Data & AI Compliance Consultant who can help organizations navigate the evolving regulatory landscape around data, privacy and artificial intelligence, translating complex requirements into practical, workable solutions.
You'll operate at the intersection of regulation, business and technology, advising clients on data protection, AI governance, risk management and regulatory compliance. You will support organizations in navigating European digital regulations, including the GDPR, EU AI Act, Data Act and Data Governance Act, while helping them establish effective governance frameworks, processes and controls.
Building on your expertise in privacy, compliance, risk management or governance, you will help clients conduct compliance and risk assessments, identify regulatory and operational risks, and translate findings into concrete actions and improvements. This is more than a traditional compliance role. You will help organizations adopt AI responsibly while enabling innovation, ensuring that governance and regulatory requirements are embedded into existing business and technology processes.
You'll work closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, IT, Security, Data and Business stakeholders, bridging regulatory expectations with operational realities. You will also contribute to client discussions, identify opportunities for further advisory support and help develop our growing Data & AI Governance and Compliance practice.
Location: Our headquarters are located in Antwerp. As you'll be working with clients across different locations, we offer a flexible and hybrid working model, combining work from our office (flexible), client sites and home, depending on the needs of the project.
Required Experience
Experience in data protection, privacy, regulatory compliance, risk management, IT governance or AI governance, preferably in a consulting or complex organizational environment.
Strong understanding of GDPR and the EU AI Act, including their practical implications for organizations.
Familiarity with the broader European digital regulatory landscape, including the Data Act, Data Governance Act, DORA and other relevant regulations.
Experience in translating regulatory requirements into governance frameworks, policies, processes and internal controls.
Hands-on experience with compliance assessments, risk assessments, impact assessments (such as DPIAs or FRIAs), or regulatory implementation projects.
Understanding of AI Governance, Responsible AI and AI-related risks, including the implications of Generative AI and emerging AI technologies.
Understanding of data governance principles, including data sharing, data access, data ownership and responsible data use.
Familiarity with related domains such as information security, IT risk, operational resilience and third-party risk management.
Experience identifying compliance gaps, defining remediation actions and supporting ongoing risk and compliance monitoring.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, Compliance, Risk, IT, Security, Data and Business teams.
Ability to translate regulatory and governance requirements into clear, actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Languages: Fluent in English and either Dutch or French, with a good working knowledge of the other language.
What sets you apart
A background as a DPO, Privacy Consultant, Compliance Officer, IT Risk Consultant, AI Governance Specialist or Regulatory Advisor, combined with practical knowledge of data and AI-related regulatory challenges.
Ability to bridge data protection, AI governance, risk management and broader data governance and compliance challenges.
Pragmatic, hands-on and solution-oriented, with experience making governance and compliance requirements workable in practice.
Experience supporting organizations with AI risk classification, governance operating models, third-party risk assessments or regulatory compliance monitoring.
Comfortable advising clients and engaging with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory and technical topics in a clear and accessible way.
Interest in AI technologies, responsible innovation and emerging European digital regulations.
A proactive and client-oriented mindset, with an interest in contributing to business development and growing client relationships.
