Design and build trusted enterprise data foundations and production-ready AI agents that transform business workflows and deliver measurable business value. As a Data & AI Engineer III at 27Global, you won't just build pipelines. You'll lead architecture for lakehouses, streaming and ML workloads on AWS, Azure and Databricks, working side by side with architects and client leadership.
27Global is a fast-growing technology partner specializing in software, cloud, and data engineering, and increasingly at the forefront of AI and agentic solutions. We pride ourselves on the quality of the services we deliver, the clients we serve, and the strength of our culture. Our commitment to our employees is evident by our multiple Best Places to Work awards.
Joining 27Global as a Data & AI Engineer III is an exciting high-growth opportunity offering a competitive base salary, performance bonuses, variable compensation incentives, plus dedicated time for learning and certifications.
Your Role:
- Drive adoption of new data and AI technologies on client engagements, such as lakehouse platforms, vector search, and governed agent access to data, by evaluating options, building prototypes, and recommending improvements to data platform architecture, performance, and scalability
- Design and build data foundations and agentic AI, including AI governance,, high-quality datasets, retrieval and vector layers, and secure, audited access to data and tools through APIs or MCP, with identity, authorization, and monitoring built in
- Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures that support enterprise analytics, operational workloads, AI, and contribute to the architecture and evolution of modern data platforms including data lakes, lakehouses, and cloud-native data warehouses
- Build and optimize batch, streaming and real-time pipelines and integration frameworks
- Define standards and best practices for data modeling, governance and platform design with architects and technical leadership
- Shape modern data lakes, lakehouses and cloud-native warehouses
- Productionize feature engineering, model data pipelines and real-time inference, and integrate ML models using AWS SageMaker, Azure Machine Learning or Databricks
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and design discussions, evaluate emerging technologies, and contribute to enterprise data strategy
- Build the data side of operating AI in production, including data quality and drift alerting, tracing and evaluation datasets, and cost attribution, so AI solutions can be run, not just built
- Lead the hands-on technical evaluation in AI readiness assessments and proofs of concept: profile client data against quality and PII/PHI controls, assess data readiness and integration gaps for priority use cases, and document findings for the roadmap and readout

- Leadership and collaboration skills to guide technical teams, influence stakeholders and juggle multiple projects
- Ability to context switch and work on a variety of projects over specified periods of time
- Ability to work at the 27Global office in Leawood, KS with hybrid work flexibility after 90 days, and occasionally onsite at client offices
- Flexibility to occasionally travel to client sites may be required, typically 1 week per quarter or less
