Job Description

At Telenet, we believe data, analytics & (Gen)AI are key drivers of our digital transformation. Data is used to better understand our customers, support smarter decision-making, and enable innovative AI-driven solutions.

Within Telenet, the Data Acceleration Tribe plays a central role in unlocking the value of data & (Gen)AI across the organization, from strategy to execution.

As Senior Data & AI Governance Expert, you will join the Data & AI Governance team, which makes sure innovation doesn’t stop at a successful pilot. We shape robust, future-proof governance practices that keep our data and AI products compliant and let them deliver value reliably and at scale.

What You’ll Help Shape

Our scope covers three connected domains:

  • Data governance that drives value. You make sure our data, insights and AI products keep delivering value at scale through clear ownership, trustworthy data and a catalog people actually want to use (data quality, lineage, lifecycle management, for both structured and unstructured data).
  • AI governance. You help build an AI inventory that shows the value and the risk of every AI agent we run. It is the first step toward an AI marketplace where proven agents can be discovered, trusted and reused across the company.
  • The semantic layer that connects both. AI agents can only use our data well if they understand it. That’s why we make sure the semantic model behind them can be governed, with clear ownership and a solid home in our data catalog. Today it powers Generative BI, where it helps AI answer the analysis questions of business stakeholders accurately. Tomorrow it will be the foundation for every agent that needs to reason over our data.

Your role

  • Turn governance ambitions into practical, lightweight processes that fit our agile, product-oriented way of working
  • Embed governance in tools and workflows rather than in documents, and automate where possible
  • Drive our data catalog platform: configure workflows (e.g. data product onboarding, ownership assignment, policy scoring, risk screening), evolve the metadata and operating model, and make it genuinely useful for the people who rely on it.
  • Design and embed the processes that help product teams govern their AI, GenAI and GenBI use cases, such as risk assessments, responsible AI controls and clear ownership of the semantic model
  • Partner with product owners, analysts, architects, and security, privacy and legal experts to find solutions that are both compliant and workable
  • Define, monitor and report on governance KPIs, compliance indicators and risk metrics that make the health of our data and AI landscape visible and guide where to act next.
  • Drive adoption through coaching, training and continuous improvement, and keep an eye on what’s next in data and AI so our governance evolves with it

Our ideal Data & AI Governance Expert

  • You see governance as an enabler of innovation, and you get energy from making new things work at scale
  • You put stakeholders first. You listen, build trust with business and technical colleagues alike, and know how to bring people along
  • You prefer pragmatic and impact-driven solutions over textbook completeness. For you, a working first version beats a perfect framework on paper
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in data governance, information management or a related field
  • You hold a Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Business Engineering, Applied Economics, Computer Sciences, Information Management) or have equivalent experience
  • You have hands-on experience with Collibra or a similar data catalog platform, including workflow configuration and driving adoption
  • You know the governance best-practices and data & AI legislation (EU AI Act, GDPR, ...) well and can apply them pragmatically
  • Experience with AI/ML governance, semantic layers or responsible AI is a strong plus
  • You speak English fluently, plus Dutch or French

Our offer to you

At Telenet group, you get more than just an attractive gross salary. We strongly believe in results and ownership: we give trust but also expect commitment and impact. What you achieve truly matters.

In addition to a thirteenth-month salary and holiday pay, you can count on an extensive package of extra benefits that supports you in your daily life as well as at work.
