Data Analyst

Description

Brief Description: Integrates and matches person-level data across criminal justice systems, maintains a master identity index, and builds the analytics, dashboards, and recurring reports that measure justice program outcomes for county leadership.

Must-have skills:

Strong SQL: complex queries, multi-table joins across disparate source systems, building extracts.

Data integration / ETL: pulling, validating, and reconciling individual-level data from multiple systems.

Record linkage / entity resolution / master data management: real experience matching, linking, deduplicating, and merging person records across systems. This is the MNI core and it is the skill most generic analysts lack, so make it a hard filter.

BI and dashboards: Power BI and/or Tableau, built for non-technical audiences. Develop ad hoc and scheduled reports.

Data quality and governance: defining data elements, business rules, and matching standards; running QA.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with technical and non technical staff

Preferred:

criminal justice or public-sector data experience (case management, jail, court, or law enforcement records systems).

Outcome / program evaluation analytics: recidivism, revocation, cohort and longitudinal tracking, defining measures.

Python or R for data collection, transformation, and pipeline automation.

Comfortable presenting to non-technical stakeholders and translating policy or operational questions into analytic deliverables.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Barbara, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
