Duration: Fixed-term appointment until 31 December 2026

Remuneration: $110,527 - $121,227 pa HEW Level 07 (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

An internal Expression of Interest is invited for the position of Data Analyst within the Arts Planning and Performance team, Faculty of Arts.
Reporting to the Senior Planning and Performance Analyst, the Data Analyst provides analytical services to support the business and strategic priorities of the Faculty. Working closely with finance teams and other stakeholders, you will use quantitative and qualitative analysis, modelling, forecasting and reporting to provide insights and recommendations that support informed decision-making.
In this role, you will:

  • coordinate and deliver analysis to support business planning, improvement initiatives and strategic decision-making
  • undertake modelling, forecasting, benchmarking and quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • develop specialised reports, recommendations and advice for senior management and other stakeholders
  • support the integrity, collation and analysis of data from systems including Kronos, STLAR, Power BI, Callista, Google BigQuery and Databricks
  • contribute to improved data processes, methodologies, frameworks and reporting practices
  • build effective relationships across business units and contribute to collaborative and cross-functional initiatives

We are looking for someone with strong analytical and problem-solving capability who is comfortable working with large and complex datasets and translating technical information into clear, practical insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in business intelligence or business analysis, data modelling and forecasting is important, together with strong capability in data extraction, manipulation and visualisation. Experience with technologies such as SQL, Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI, Python or R Studio will be highly regarded. Experience with financial modelling is also desirable.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills will be important, including the ability to present complex information clearly, develop succinct reports and recommendations, and effectively engage and influence stakeholders.
