About the Role

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced audit analytics professional to provide advanced data analytics leadership and support the strategic use of artificial intelligence (AI) across its Audit Services portfolio.

This role combines audit expertise, data analytics, and emerging technology knowledge to support the full audit lifecycle, from planning and fieldwork through reporting and follow-up. The professional will partner with audit leadership, auditors, data analysts, IT teams, and business stakeholders to develop risk-based analytics, evaluate AI-enabled solutions, and improve audit efficiency, coverage, and insight across a large healthcare system.

The position also provides technical guidance and coaching to audit teams while helping shape the organization's approach to AI governance and the use of automation within healthcare-focused audit activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute data analytics across all phases of the audit lifecycle, including pre-planning, planning, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up.
  • Design risk-based analytic procedures, including full-population testing, targeted sampling, continuous auditing, and risk-triggered analytics.
  • Apply analytics across clinical, operational, revenue cycle, compliance, and fraud-related audit areas.
  • Partner with audit teams to integrate analytics into audit planning, testing strategies, issue identification, validation, and reporting.
  • Develop, review, and interpret analytic results, translating complex data insights into actionable conclusions for audit teams and leadership.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support audit reporting, portfolio oversight, and leadership decisions.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and oversight to auditors, senior auditors, and data analysts, supporting the development of their audit and analytics capabilities.
  • Lead or support complex audits and analytics-intensive engagements, particularly those involving healthcare operations, clinical systems, and enterprise platforms such as Epic.
  • Partner with the Manager and Director of Audit Data Analytics to develop a strategic blueprint for using AI across the audit lifecycle.
  • Evaluate, pilot, and help design AI-enabled solutions, including controlled AI agents and automation, to improve audit efficiency, coverage, and insight.
  • Support audits of enterprise AI solutions by assessing governance, data integrity, model design, controls, ethics, and regulatory compliance.
  • Stay informed about emerging AI technologies and industry practices and advise audit leadership on their practical application.
  • Ensure analytics, AI-enabled solutions, and audit activities are documented according to Audit Services standards, quality expectations, and retention requirements.
  • Collaborate with data owners, IT partners, and business stakeholders to define data requirements, resolve data issues, and support appropriate use of enterprise data assets.
  • Coordinate with teams supporting Epic and other healthcare systems.
  • Contribute to audit analytics standards, methodology enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data analytics, audit analytics, business analytics, or a related data-focused role.
  • Demonstrated experience performing audit analytics and supporting audits throughout the full audit lifecycle.
  • Prior exposure to artificial intelligence concepts, tools, automation, or deployment of AI-enabled solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of internal audit practices, audit risk assessment, testing methodologies, and audit lifecycle execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics, including data extraction, transformation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL.
  • Working knowledge of AI concepts, AI governance, model risk considerations, and the use of AI in business and audit functions.
  • Ability and interest in designing, evaluating, or deploying AI agents and automation with appropriate controls and oversight.
  • Experience auditing AI-enabled processes and systems, including assessing data quality, bias, explainability, and controls.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex analytics and AI concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
