About the role We are searching for an architect with a wide range of technical experience, who can turn their hand to many systems to support the design of technical solutions across a range of environments. This role suits an experienced architect with broad technical capability, strong investigative skills, and a pragmatic and practical approach to system design. You will work on a variety of projects, supporting client ambitions, and continual improvement of client environments. What a day may look like: Investigation and scoping of a client environment to understand how a solution might be implemented Engaging with a client to help resolve complex architecture challenges Designing and documenting data and solutions architecture to balance best practice and client realities Working in a project team to plan, build, test and roll out data-based, analytical and AI solutions Collaborating with clients to understand challenges and support new and existing solutions Working pragmatically to deliver the right outcome for the client’s business and problem Communicating with the Client Services team regarding progress on projects and any potential issues Working with your direct team, and the wider Datamine team to constantly learn and improve while getting constructive feedback along the way What You’ll Bring Experience (10+ years) in data engineering and data/solutions architecture in a range of technologies and technical environments Pragmatic in approach to design of solutions. Trade-off between budget, and best practice, with integration into existing client environments Data and Process Modelling – specifically including Star Schemas and BPM, understanding of Slowly Changing Dimension variations, Normalisation and Denormalisation ETL tools –would be good to have Databricks, Datafactory and Fabric Databases – esp.
