Primary Purpose

Perform activities relating to designing, building, testing, implementing, and maintaining solutions, products, and processes under the guidance of a Sr. Data Engineer or Manager.

Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Primary Duties

• Perform, document, and assist in planning work activities relating to projects, sub-projects, or processes. For Projects: analyze requirements, design, build, and test IT software solutions in accordance with IT project management standards. For operations/application maintenance: enhance, maintain, or support existing IT products and processes to the defined service level agreement (70%)
• Assist in creation of documentation for products and services. Use best practices to improve products and services provided to business unit partners, and monitor adherence within Team/Group to standards as defined within the Management Model (20%)
• Proactively build business relationships, technical knowledge, and business acumen within own discipline or function. (10%)

Job Scope

• Uses technical resources and collaborate with colleagues across the IT organization to solve problems.
• As assigned, work effectively with outsourcing partners.
• Performs this service in support of Exelon Utility Analytics.
• Assists in the review of data protection requirements of business functions and document the available solutions and processes.
• Works under general supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline and 2-4 years' relevant experience in data warehouse design, business intelligence reporting and ETL/TLT processing or 3-6 equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation, such as systems specifications, product descriptions, operational procedures, etc.
• Some experience or exposure to the various commands and components of a variety of tools. Understands basic concepts, symbols, and conventions.
• Understands how tasks are integrated to produce final deliverables and able to recognize 'textbook' problems and resolve them with assistance.
• Experience implementing a data naming standard for a business area or department, recommended appropriate levels of data access for different user groups and suggested appropriate backup and recovery strategies for various categories of data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possess knowledge in cloud technologies Capable of leading a project and ensuring timely delivery Comprehensive understanding of ETL and data warehouse concepts
• Prior experience in the Azure cloud platform and its applications
• Experience in Databricks technologies with Databricks warehouse expertise Experience in ODI, IDMC, ADF, Synapse
• Familiarity on Oracle Golden Gate, cosmos DB, Hyperscale DB Experience with big data technologies such as Spark Experienced in data cleaning, preprocessing, and transforming data into readable formats for analysis
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of how the business works and can maintain a focus on what is good for the business.
• Understanding of current process with regular evaluation and ability to participate and provide suggestions for innovative improvements for future tasks.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and experience developing and implementing new technologies or platforms.
• Displays an attitude commensurate with being a good negotiator, including goodwill, collaboration, and mutual satisfaction.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships and aptitude to synthesize what a business partner is asking for.
• Has participated in interviews of users as part of a systems development team to gather information for analysis or technical work.
• Ability to perform basic independent troubleshooting by looking through logs and can investigate and fix simple code issues.
• Able to provide technical expertise and/or engineering support for cloud solutions.
• Stays abreast of new technology as it applies to work assignments and tasks and remains informed about new Big Data technology.
• Ability to learn to create simple scripts.
• Has light experience, training, direct exposure, or experience working with Data Interpretation and some experience with statistical analysis.
• Has general knowledge of security as it relates to data sets, passwords, and user IDs, including the basic concepts of confidentiality and integrity. Has basic knowledge of virus prevention, firewall protection and other data protection and privacy tools and concepts.
• Has knowledge of the architecture of the data and databases related to work assignments.
• Has light experience, training, direct exposure, or experience working with the company's data management processes.

• Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $80,800.00/Yr. – $111,100.00/Yr.
