Your role in BizAway As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data architecture that best supports our business needs. This includes implementing scalable and cost-effective data pipelines and ETL flows for both structured and unstructured data. You will work closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure data quality, reliability, and availability, while also collaborating on defining data design guidelines and event instrumentation strategies to enable consistent and reliable data collection across our systems. You will own BizAway’s ETL processes and contribute to the implementation of data models supporting analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives. Together with other team members, you will ensure that data governance, security, and compliance best practices are in place, along with comprehensive documentation. You will also operate confidently within modern AI development workflows, supporting the evolution of data products and AI-driven initiatives. Your basic qualifications 3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role Demonstrated experience in data modelling and in implementing OLTP / OLAP systems Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred) Extensive knowledge of data architecture principles Strong proficiency in SQL, Python and Spark Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL and MongoDB preferred) Be familiar with CI/CD processes and IAC tools (Terraform preferred) Ideally having a background in software engineering Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (preferred) English proficiency (written and spoken, minimum B2 level) We are also interested in Previous experience in the travel industry or similar sectors Previous experience with data modelling in Qlik Cloud or other BI platforms Previous experience with data science and machine learning projects Our offer 📄 Contract type: Permanent 🕓 Working hours: Full-time – 40h/week, from Monday to Friday 🏢 90% Remote work, flexible working policy, and great offices in Europe 💰 Salary: Attractive compensation, including equity in the company 💼 Equity in the company (stock options plan) ✈️ A seat on a scale-up with skyrocketing growth 📈 Development of your entrepreneurial spirit, having the chance to implement real-impact business decision 🌍Multicultural and international team 🙌Collaborative and smart environment to work and learn 🍻Free coffee to kick-start your day and free beers to celebrate together BizAway avoids any discrimination based on age, gender, sexual orientation, health status, nationality, political opinions, and religious beliefs in all decisions affecting personnel selection.
