Our engineers are vital to the innovation and digitalization of BMW Group's driving machines, production, sales and banking processes, and you could be part of our evolving teams. What awaits you Design, build, and operate operational data-integration solutions that make enterprise data available, trusted, and consumable Ingest and stream data from Zero Trust data sources, including CMDBs, identity systems, and security tooling into operational pipelines rather than analytics stores Implement API-based integrations, webhook listeners, and file-ingestion solutions to capture operational events Ensure pipelines are idempotent and resilient through retries, replay, backpressure, and compensation strategies Apply data-modelling and metadata practices to ensure consistent schemas and data discoverability Implement and monitor data-quality checks, anomaly detection, and validation rules; drive remediation where required Collaborate with automation and orchestration teams to ensure streamed operational data supports automation workflows and runbooks Implement efficient partitioning, batching, and resource-usage patterns while managing cost and throughput trade-offs Apply security and privacy by design, including least-privilege access, secrets management, encryption in transit and at rest, and data masking or anonymization where required What should you bring along University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related field At least 3 years of experience in data engineering, integration, or streaming roles Strong analytical thinking, curiosity about data, attention to detail, structured problem-solving, and ownership Good Python skills. Knowledge of PySpark for data engineering, ingestion pipelines, and automation Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-streaming platforms for real-time data movement Proven experience with API integration patterns, webhooks, and event/webhook ingestion Solid competence with enterprise databases and query languages, including practical experience in database performance tuning and query optimization for OLTP and operational workloads Experience with NoSQL/document stores, such as MongoDB, for operational data requirements Experience with schema registries and contract-first designs (Avro, Protobuf) to manage producer/consumer compatibility Strong understanding and practical application of data-quality techniques and tools to ensure trusted data Ability to normalize and correlate data across multiple sources, such as CMDBs, identity systems, and security tooling Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, and product owners Flexibility to adapt to new tools, technologies, and evolving business requirements Excellent English verbal and written skills Nice to have relevant experience in: Awareness of frontend frameworks, such as Angular, to better understand downstream consumer needs Familiarity with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), such as Terraform Experience operating container platforms and orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes, for scalable stream processing Working knowledge of Azure Synapse or similar data-platform services for integrated data processing What do we offer?
