Lead Data Engineer

Remote, UK | £110,000 + share options + private medical insurance

Tenth Revolution Group is seeking a Lead Data Engineer for a high-growth, venture-backed AI technology company. This organisation develops AI-powered solutions for major enterprise clients, helping them turn complex data into meaningful business intelligence. The successful candidate will have a pivotal role in developing the data capabilities that support the company’s products, customers and continued growth.

About The Company

The company is an innovative technology business delivering advanced AI solutions to enterprise organisations. Its work brings together data, analytics and artificial intelligence to address complex business challenges and support better-informed decisions. As the company scales, it is investing in the platforms and engineering foundations needed to develop new products, serve customers reliably and expand its data and AI capabilities.

About The Role

This is a senior, hands-on position offering substantial technical ownership and influence. You will design and build scalable data platforms and services that enable analytics, machine learning, decision intelligence and emerging AI technologies. Working closely with product, engineering, data science and leadership teams, you will help shape the organisation’s data architecture and strategy while delivering reliable solutions for enterprise use. As the business grows, there may also be an opportunity to help develop and lead a wider data function.

Qualifications

You will bring strong practical experience building and operating production-grade data platforms, alongside a sound understanding of data architecture, modelling and engineering principles. Experience with ETL and ELT pipelines, orchestration and large-scale or complex datasets is important, as is a track record of delivering analytics, reporting or business intelligence solutions. You should also have experience designing secure data services and APIs, and understand how well-structured data foundations support machine learning and AI systems.

Familiarity with the AWS data and analytics ecosystem is required. You will have a strong appreciation of data quality, governance, lineage, metadata and observability, as well as the security, privacy and compliance considerations involved in enterprise environments. Knowledge of statistics, experimentation and data-informed decision-making will be valuable. We are looking for an engineering professional who communicates effectively across disciplines, takes a thoughtful approach to complex problems and is committed to quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain scalable data platforms, pipelines and infrastructure for analytics and AI. Develop Data-as-a-Service capabilities that can support products and customer solutions, and create trusted reporting and business intelligence services. Design and manage secure, reliable data services and APIs, ensuring they meet operational and customer needs. Build data foundations for machine learning, statistical models and AI systems, working in partnership with data scientists and engineers.

You will establish and promote engineering practices for data quality, governance, lineage, metadata and observability. Embed security, privacy and compliance into data architecture and day-to-day engineering processes. Collaborate with technical and commercial teams to understand requirements, influence architecture and contribute to the company’s data strategy. You will also help ensure platforms are maintainable, dependable and ready to evolve as the organisation’s products and customer base expand.

Benefits

The package includes a salary of £110,000, share options and private medical insurance. This is a fully remote role for a UK-based candidate, offering significant autonomy and technical ownership. You will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of data and AI in a rapidly scaling technology business, with potential to progress into a leadership position as the organisation grows.

Equal Opportunity

Tenth Revolution Group and the hiring organisation welcome applications from qualified candidates with a range of backgrounds and experiences. Applicants must be based in the UK, have the right to work in the UK, have continuously resided in the UK for the previous five years and be able to complete relevant pre-employment screening.
