Elior Support Services – The People Behind Every Plate
At Elior UK, we're looking for a Data Engineer to help build and maintain the data platform that supports our business operations, financial reporting and client insights. You'll play a key role in developing reliable, secure and scalable data solutions, working with our Azure data platform to bring information together from internal systems and external suppliers.
Working alongside our transformation, architecture, support and Business Intelligence teams, you'll develop data pipelines and high-quality datasets that support reporting, business intelligence and wider technology projects.
This role is based in our Macclesfield office, so you’ll need to live within a reasonable commuting distance and be able to work from the office as required.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am–5:30pm (flexible) | Hybrid Working with 3 days in the office
Contract: This is a fixed-term contract until October 2027

What you'll be serving up…
- Designing, building and maintaining Azure data pipelines using Databricks and PySpark.
- Developing data models using medallion architecture and lakehouse concepts.
- Supporting data migration projects alongside the global transformation team.
- Integrating data from external vendors and internal applications.
- Developing and optimising Spark and SQL transformations to deliver reliable, accurate data.
- Building curated datasets and optimised data models to support Power BI reporting.
- Ensuring data ingestion meets agreed service levels, with appropriate traceability and documentation.
- Following Elior's governance and Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes to ensure solutions are secure, compliant and production-ready.
- Working collaboratively with architecture, support, BI teams and external vendors to deliver projects and improve processes
The ingredients you'll bring…
- Experience with Azure Databricks and PySpark.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex data transformations.
- Experience using Azure Data Factory.
- A solid background in developing ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Understanding of dimensional modelling and lakehouse concepts.
- The ability to develop secure, scalable and high-performing data solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience with Delta Lake.
- Knowledge of Power BI optimisation.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD processes.
- An understanding of ITIL processes.
- Experience working with finance or procurement data.
- Experience within hospitality or retail businesses.
You'll be someone who takes ownership of your work, pays attention to detail and looks for opportunities to improve how data is managed and used across the business. You'll also be comfortable working collaboratively, sharing knowledge and ensuring your solutions meet agreed standards and business requirements.
