  • Develop, maintain, and enhance migration tooling and automation frameworks.
  • Design, build, and optimize data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Create reusable utilities that reduce implementation effort across migration projects.
  • Use AI-assisted software development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) to improve engineering productivity while maintaining high standards for code quality, security, and testing.
  • Develop intelligent automation for data validation, field mapping, reconciliation, exception handling, and migration reporting.
  • Build containerized migration solutions that can be deployed consistently across customer environments.
  • Work closely with Technical Architects and Project Managers to deliver successful customer implementations.
  • Troubleshoot complex migration issues involving APIs, databases, integrations, and application data.
  • Continuously improve migration frameworks, engineering standards, documentation, and best practices.
  • Maintain technical expertise across the Zendesk platform, APIs, import/export capabilities, and integration technologies.
  • Contribute ideas that improve automation, delivery efficiency, customer experience, and overall migration quality.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of Python development experience.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
  • Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, XML, CSV, and other structured data formats.
  • Experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex data transformation and integration challenges.
  • Experience using AI-assisted software development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) as part of the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent customer projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering software in a Professional Services, Consulting, or customer-facing engineering environment.
  • Experience building cloud-native applications using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience building automation frameworks and developer tooling.
  • Experience integrating with SaaS platforms through REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, or similar) through APIs or AI development tools.
  • Experience creating AI-assisted engineering workflows or developer automation.
  • Understanding of software architecture, clean code principles, and software design patterns.

Successful engineers in this role:

  • Deliver reliable, scalable migration solutions that exceed customer expectations.
  • Build reusable automation that reduces implementation effort and improves consistency.
  • Use AI responsibly to accelerate development while maintaining engineering excellence.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate manual work through automation and tooling.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve engineering standards, migration processes, and customer outcomes.
