Data Enginer

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Data Engineer at Fix-Gap Consults. The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data pipelines to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing ETL processes, implementing data models, and managing data warehousing solutions for internal use and client projects. The role involves collaborating with consultants, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, ensure data quality, and deliver scalable, reliable data infrastructure. The Data Engineer will also monitor system performance, troubleshoot data issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering practices and standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Data Engineering and Data Warehousing for building and maintaining scalable data infrastructure.
• Candidates should possess skills in Data Modeling and Extract Transform Load (ETL) to design efficient data structures and robust data pipelines.
• Candidates should possess skills in Data Analytics to support reporting, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making.
• Proficiency with SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (such as Python, Java, or Scala).
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms or services (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and modern data tools is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and security best practices.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
