Data Modeller

We’re looking for a Data Modeller to join one of our Data Warehouse & BI teams. You’ll design and maintain scalable data models that support reporting, analytics, and enterprise data platforms. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, Technical Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Solution Architects, and BI Developers to translate business requirements into robust data structures that ensure consistency, performance, and long-term scalability.

𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

• Design data models that support operational systems, data warehouses, and analytical solutions.

• Define entities, attributes, relationships, keys, and business rules to ensure accurate representation of business processes.

• Ensure data models align with enterprise architecture standards and data management best practices.

• Produce and maintain data model documentation, ERDs, and modeling standards.

• Participate in design workshops and technical analysis sessions with business and IT teams.

𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲

• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data platforms.

• Design dimensional models using star and snowflake schemas to support reporting and analytics.

• Apply normalization and denormalization techniques based on business and performance requirements.

• Ensure consistency between source systems, integration layers, and analytical models.

• Define naming conventions, modeling standards, and reusable design patterns.

• Collaborate with Solution Architects to ensure data models support long-term architectural objectives.

𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

• Analyze source systems and define detailed source-to-target mappings.

• Document transformation rules, business logic, and integration requirements.

• Collaborate with Data Engineers during ETL/ELT design and implementation.

• Validate mappings and transformation logic against business requirements.

• Ensure consistency across multiple data integration processes.

• Support impact analysis for changes affecting data models and integration flows.

𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

• Define data standards, business rules, and validation requirements within data models.

• Collaborate with Data Governance teams to ensure metadata and lineage are properly documented.

• Support implementation of data quality rules and consistency checks.

• Analyze the impact of data model changes on downstream systems.

• Ensure enterprise data assets remain consistent, reusable, and well documented.

• Contribute to modeling standards and governance best practices.

𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁

• Support development teams during implementation of new data models.

• Validate implemented database structures against approved designs.

• Collaborate with testers and business analysts during system testing and User Acceptance Testing.

• Investigate data-related issues and recommend model improvements.

• Support production releases and ensure implemented solutions comply with established standards.

• Maintain documentation throughout the lifecycle of each project.

𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘁-𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲

• University degree in Computer Science, Economic Informatics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

• 4+ years of experience in Data Modelling, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, or Data Architecture.

• Strong knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.

• Experience designing dimensional models (star and snowflake schemas).

• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.

• Experience creating Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) and source-to-target mappings.

• Good understanding of normalization, denormalization, and database design principles.

• Experience collaborating with Data Engineers, Architects, and Business Analysts.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

• Experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, SAP PowerDesigner, or Sparx Enterprise Architect.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.

• Experience with Data Vault 2.0 methodology.

• Knowledge of metadata management and data lineage concepts.

• Experience in Banking, Retail, Insurance, or Telco industries.

• Relevant certifications in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, or DAMA.
