Promptly is entering a phase of sustained scale. Building on the traction of our Federated Evidence Network, we are expanding across Europe and selected international markets with a clear objective: to establish one of the largest regulated health data ecosystems in the world.
Germany is the single most important market in that plan. It combines Europe's densest network of university hospitals, a national medical informatics infrastructure few countries can match, and a regulatory framework that has moved decisively toward secondary use of health data. Access is won institution by institution, through governance bodies, data protection leadership and clinical sponsors who expect a partner, not a vendor.
We are hiring a Data Network Associate to accelerate how quickly we build that network.
The Role
You will drive data partner acquisition and activation across Germany. You will own a defined portfolio of accounts end to end and support our Country Manager Germany on priority university hospitals and network-wide partnerships.
This is a hands-on role at the core of the Evidence Network. You will prospect, qualify, run governance processes, coordinate technical feasibility, and follow each partnership through to live data. It is an execution role with real ownership. You will not just support deals, you will close your own.
You will report to the Data Network Lead and work closely with the Data Network Country Manager Germany, Life Sciences, Product, R&D, Delivery, Legal and Compliance.
What You Will Do
This role is scoped to Germany, working inside a growing European Data Network team. It carries a clear path to broader account ownership and to country or segment-level responsibility as the network scales.

You will report to the Data Network Lead and work closely with the Data Network Country Manager Germany, Life Sciences, Product, R&D, Delivery, Legal and Compliance.
What You Will Do
- Identify, map, and qualify data partner targets across Germany, including Universitätsklinika and their Datenintegrationszentren (DIZ), private hospital and rehabilitation groups, Landeskrebsregister and disease registries, research networks such as NUM, and scientific societies. Prioritise them by lives covered, data readiness, and alignment with sponsor and indication demand.
- Drive partner acquisition from first contact through to signed agreement, owning a defined set of accounts independently and supporting the Data Network Country Manager Germany on priority institutions, in line with the German partnership strategy.
- Build account plans for priority institutions that map the real decision chain: Ärztliche and Kaufmännische Direktion, CIO/CMIO, DIZ and medical informatics leadership, Datenschutzbeauftragte, legal, and clinical KOLs. Articulate the partnership value proposition (revenue share, research access, and evidence generation opportunities).
- Navigate German contracting and governance pathways, including cooperation and data use agreements, Use and Access Committee submissions, Ethikkommission approvals, and DPIA support. Build working knowledge of GDPR, BDSG, GDNG, and the Landeskrankenhausgesetze and Landesdatenschutzgesetze that govern secondary use state by state, escalating to Legal and DPO where needed.
- Coordinate data readiness and technical feasibility assessments with Product and R&D. This includes alignment with the MII core dataset, the FHIR-based DIZ infrastructure, and the institution's consent model. Manage the handover from signature to live data with Delivery.
- Grow existing partner relationships into new departments, sites, and data types. Use signed German programmes as reference cases to open the next tier of institutions.
- Work with Life Sciences colleagues to match partner capabilities to sponsor demand for German data.
- Maintain rigorous pipeline hygiene in Attio, ensuring accurate forecasting of partners, lives covered, and time-to-live, with transparent reporting to the Data Network Lead (EU) and the Country Manager Germany.
- Monitor developments in the Medizininformatik-Initiative, GDNG, the Forschungsdatenzentrum Gesundheit, the planned Medizinregistergesetz, and EHDS implementation, and feed insights into company-wide positioning.
- 2 to 4 years in partnerships, business development, research administration, clinical research, health data consulting or medical informatics, with meaningful time in the German healthcare system.
- Exposure to how German hospitals or research institutions work from the inside, for example through a Universitätsklinikum research office, a DIZ, a CRO, a registry, or a health tech company selling into hospitals.
- A working understanding of the German secondary-use landscape (MII, DIZ, ethics committees, data protection governance), and the appetite to become an expert in it quickly.
- Comfort discussing technical topics such as data models, FHIR and interoperability at a conceptual level with medical informatics teams.
- Strong organisation and CRM discipline. You keep a pipeline accurate without being chased.
- Native or near-native German and fluent English.
- A degree in life sciences, health economics, public health, medical informatics or a related field is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel within Germany, approximately 1 to 2 trips per month.
This role is scoped to Germany, working inside a growing European Data Network team. It carries a clear path to broader account ownership and to country or segment-level responsibility as the network scales.
