Role areas:
Data platform backlog and roadmap ownership - Managing the Feature-level backlog for a Databricks-based data platform, collecting needs from business projects, prioritizing and sequencing the delivery of infrastructure features (e.g. observability, FinOps, integrations), and consolidating similar requests into shared patterns (e.g. one connector instead of several separate integrations)
Coordination between product managers and the platform team - Acting as the platform team's interface towards Stream Leads, Epic Owners and business product managers, aligning scope, priorities and dependencies, coordinating risks, release readiness, changes and handovers, and communicating the plan to the engineering team and stakeholders
Bringing structure and standards to the platform team - Ensuring backlog hygiene and that specifications are ready before work starts, structured PBIs and Definition of Done, platform service documentation standards, and supporting adoption by the teams using the platform
What you need to join us:
Must have:
Experience as a Product Owner / Product Manager for a data platform or data infrastructure (not limited to data catalogs), including Feature-level backlog ownership, prioritization and translating demand into actionable backlog items
Strong understanding of data architecture and data infrastructure, and of data concepts: Lakehouse, medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold) in practice, not just by name, data products, data contracts, data mesh
Technical profile - comfortable discussing conceptual architecture and able to make sound judgments on which platform feature to develop first (you don't need to be a former developer)
A strong drive for structure and discipline: structured PBIs, Definition of Done, backlog hygiene, combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management and a clear understanding of your role's boundaries
Living in Prague, Czechia (metropolitan area) and able to come to the office for meetings
Nice to have:
Experience with Databricks (alternatively Snowflake)
Experience in organizations where a structured way of working (PBIs, Definition of Done) genuinely sped up delivery
Experience coordinating dependencies, risks, releases and handovers in an Agile/DevOps environment
Experience building platform service documentation standards and supporting their adoption
Familiarity with areas such as observability, FinOps or data integrations
AI experience - a plus, but not expected
