Job Description
Be Part Of A High-Performing Team
Join an enterprise data organization modernizing the way cloud-based analytics and data platforms are managed. This team operates a broad ecosystem of platforms supporting data warehousing, analytics, business intelligence, governance, and transformation. The selected administrator will take ownership of responsibilities currently distributed across developers and technical leaders while helping shape a more automated approach to platform operations.
What's In Store For You
- Permanent opportunity supporting a modern cloud-based data ecosystem.
- Hybrid schedule requiring 4 days per week onsite in SouthPark, Charlotte, NC.
- Opportunity to build expertise across multiple enterprise data and analytics platforms.
- Work directly with experienced technical leaders and existing platform owners during the transition.
- Opportunity to go beyond traditional administration by introducing automation, AI-assisted workflows, and agent-based provisioning.
- Potential exposure to both platform administration and development-oriented work as the environment evolves.
- Standard business hours with occasional availability for major cloud-service incidents.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Own day-to-day administration of enterprise cloud data and analytics platforms.
- Manage users, groups, roles, permissions, access, connections, databases, schemas, workspaces, and related platform resources.
- Use SQL as part of provisioning, access management, troubleshooting, and platform operations.
- Support identity and access integrations, including enterprise authentication and directory groups.
- Evaluate administrative requests and determine the appropriate solution rather than simply executing tickets.
- Monitor platform health and resolve access, configuration, connectivity, and operational issues.
- Partner with developers, analysts, and technical leaders to ensure platforms are secure, stable, and usable.
- Learn additional platforms and progressively expand ownership across the environment.
- Identify repetitive administrative processes that can be automated.
- Build or support automation using Python, APIs, AI agents, Copilot-style tooling, or platform-native automation capabilities.
- Help evolve the role from manual administration toward a more scalable, automation-driven operating model.
Requirements
Do You Bring Proven Success in Cloud Data Platform Administration?
- Bring hands-on administration experience with at least one enterprise data, analytics, BI, or cloud platform.
- Demonstrate that administration was a meaningful part of your role—not simply an occasional responsibility alongside ETL or report development.
- Be comfortable using SQL for administrative and operational tasks.
- Understand user provisioning, roles, permissions, authentication, groups, and connection management.
- Have experience supporting modern cloud-based platforms rather than relying exclusively on traditional on-premise database administration.
- Bring strong troubleshooting and platform ownership skills.
- Be able to investigate requests, understand the underlying need, and recommend the right solution.
- Python or similar scripting experience is strongly valued.
- Experience with Snowflake, Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Alation, dbt, Palantir, or comparable platforms is beneficial.
- Experience with automation, APIs, AI agents, Copilot, or platform-native automation is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications are beneficial but not required.
