What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead end-to-end quality assurance activities for enterprise data warehouse, Strategy, and Power BI reporting initiatives. Manage and coordinate the work of the QA resources, including assigning work, reviewing deliverables, tracking progress, and ensuring adherence to QA standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce QA policies, procedures, testing standards, templates, documentation practices, and quality gates.

  • Perform and oversee data validation, data reconciliation, source-to-target testing, ETL testing, regression testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing support, and production validation. Validate data movement across source systems, staging areas, enterprise data warehouse layers, semantic/reporting layers, Strategy outputs, and Power BI reports.
  • Review source-to-target mappings, business requirements, technical specifications, report requirements, and data models to identify test coverage needs and quality risks. Develop and execute SQL queries to validate data completeness, accuracy, transformation logic, aggregations, calculations, and reconciliation results. Lead testing of Power BI reports, including validation of report visuals, filters, slicers, measures, KPIs, calculations, drill-throughs, row-level security, refresh results, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Support testing of Strategy-related data outputs and reporting processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, completeness, and usability. Manage defect identification, documentation, prioritization, triage, tracking, retesting, and closure across QA cycles.
  • Partner with developers, ETL teams, data architects, reporting teams, business analysts, and business stakeholders to resolve data quality and reporting issues.
  • Provide QA status reporting, test execution metrics, defect metrics, risk assessments, and quality dashboards to project and technology leadership. Identify testing risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and data quality concerns, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Establish and maintain QA documentation, including test plans, test scripts, execution evidence, sign-off documentation, defect logs, test summary reports, and runbooks.
  • Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, automation opportunities, documentation standards, and data validation practices.
  • Mentor QA team members and provide guidance on data warehouse testing, SQL validation, report testing, defect management, and quality assurance best practices.

What you’ll bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in quality assurance, with significant experience testing enterprise data warehouse, business intelligence, reporting, or analytics solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience leading QA teams, preferably teams of approximately 10 or more resources across onshore and offshore delivery models.
  • Strong hands-on experience with data warehouse testing, ETL testing, data reconciliation, source-to-target validation, data quality testing, and production validation.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries for data validation, reconciliation, aggregation testing, transformation testing, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience testing reports, dashboards, semantic models, datasets, measures, KPIs, filters, slicers, calculations, drill-through functionality, and report refresh results. Experience with PowerBI and Strategy preferred
  • Experience validating reports and analytics outputs against business requirements, source data, warehouse data, and defined business logic.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data warehouse concepts, including dimensional modeling, fact and dimension tables, data marts, staging layers, semantic layers, and reporting layers.
  • Experience reviewing source-to-target mappings, data models, technical specifications, report specifications, and business requirements to design effective test coverage.
  • Experience with defect management and test management tools such as Azure DevOps, Fresh Service, or similar platforms.
  • Experience establishing QA standards, policies, test templates, procedures, metrics, and governance practices.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools, data integration processes, batch processing, scheduling, and production support concepts.
  • Experience with automated testing approaches for data validation, regression testing, or report testing is preferred.
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated data environments is preferred.
