About the Client
Digital Skills are working with a large Software and Travel Business that is developing and establishing its enterprise Data Quality capability. The programme is focused on driving consistent adoption of Data Quality tooling and practices across the organisation, supported by clear metrics, playbooks and reporting.
About the Role
We are looking for a Data Quality Specialist to work alongside a Technical Product Manager and engineering team, supporting the development and adoption of enterprise Data Quality capabilities.
The emphasis is firmly on hands-on Data Quality experience. The successful candidate will understand Data Quality tooling in practice and be able to translate that expertise into effective adoption, metrics, documentation and guidance.
Responsibilities
- Support Data Quality tooling adoption across multiple business units
- Create Data Quality playbooks and practical documentation for users
- Contribute to the definition of Data Quality metrics
- Produce reporting and dashboarding documentation for Data Quality
- Work alongside the Technical Product Manager and engineering team
- Support stakeholders in understanding and adopting Data Quality tooling
- Analyse requirements and translate them into clear documentation
- Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders
Desired Skills and Experience
- Proven, hands-on experience working with Data Quality
- Technical background in Data Engineering, Data Governance or Data Management
- Practical experience with at least one established Data Quality platform
- Experience with tools such as Monte Carlo, Great Expectations, Ataccama, Validio, Acceldata or Collibra DQ, or equivalent market tooling
- Strong understanding of Data Quality metrics and their practical application
- Experience supporting the adoption or implementation of Data Quality capabilities
- Ability to create effective playbooks, technical documentation and user guidance
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Good communication and stakeholder-influencing skills across both technical and business audiences
Summary of the Best Candidate
The strongest candidate will have a technical background in Data Engineering, Data Governance or Data Management with proven, hands-on Data Quality experience.
Around four years' relevant experience can be treated as a guide rather than a rigid requirement. Demonstrable practical experience is more important than time served. Candidates need to have worked directly with Data Quality and at least one established Data Quality tool, rather than having purely theoretical or governance-level knowledge.
The role would particularly suit someone who understands the practical challenges of adopting Data Quality tooling and can convert that expertise into effective metrics, playbooks, reporting and documentation.
This role is specifically focused on Data Quality, and candidates should be able to demonstrate that distinction clearly in their experience.
