WE ARE HIRING : Data Scientist Location: Sri Lanka Employment Type: Contract (Up to 3 Years) Company Industry: Banking & Finance Role Overview We are seeking a highly analytical and innovative Data Scientist to develop advanced data-driven solutions, generate insights, and support strategic decision-making. This role focuses on data analytics, machine learning, statistical modeling, and transforming complex data into actionable business intelligence within a highly regulated financial environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement data science and analytics initiatives to support business and policy decisions Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights Design and deploy machine learning, statistical, and econometric models Manage data extraction, transformation, mining, and processing activities Develop dashboards, visualizations, and reports for senior management Identify data gaps and recommend innovative solutions and methodologies Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand analytical requirements Ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity through validation processes Support research studies using advanced analytical techniques Monitor and troubleshoot data models and analytical solutions Contribute to building a data-driven culture through training and knowledge sharing Candidate Profile Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, IT, Computer Science, or related quantitative field Minimum 2+ years of experience in data science or analytics roles Candidates should be below 35 years of age Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analytics Proficiency in data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, etc.) Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) Strong understanding of data mining, data processing, and big data techniques Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and presentation abilities Ability to work with large and complex datasets Knowledge of banking, financial systems, or economic data will be an added advantage High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure Ready to take your career to new heights?
