About The Role
As a Data Scientist specializing in AI, you will develop and implement solutions that create measurable value for products, systems, digital services, business models, and internal processes. You will work across the full lifecycle of AI initiatives, from identifying promising opportunities and shaping use cases to building, deploying, and scaling reliable applications. This role connects data science with real industrial and business needs. Working closely with colleagues in engineering, quality, production, service, IT, and digital business teams, you will help turn Wilo’s WATER AI Strategy into effective solutions that support innovation, automation, and better decision-making.
Qualifications
You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a comparable field. You bring several years of experience developing and deploying production-ready AI or machine-learning solutions, ideally in an industrial environment, digital services, or process optimization. You are confident using Python and common machine-learning frameworks, and can translate analytical results into robust applications, services, or process improvements.
Experience with Azure, Databricks, Docker, Git, CI/CD, MLflow, coding assistants, or agent frameworks is an advantage. You understand data quality, model validation, explainable AI, and the requirements of cloud and edge architectures. Familiarity with machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, computer vision, time-series analysis, or agent technologies will help you contribute across a range of use cases. You work independently and analytically, manage complex development projects in a structured way, and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders. Very good German and English language skills are required.

In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and implement data-driven AI solutions for products, systems, digital services, business processes, and internal applications, from initial concept through scalable deployment.
- Analyze technical, operational, and business data to build models and applications that enable improvement, automation, and informed decision-making.
- Select and apply suitable methods, including machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, computer vision, time-series analysis, explainable AI, and agent technologies.
- Develop data and model pipelines, contribute to MLOps practices, and support reliable solutions through monitoring and attention to privacy, security, and operational requirements.
- Collaborate across functions to understand needs, define high-value AI use cases, and deliver solutions that can be adopted in real-world settings.
