Data Solutions Architect

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Senior Data Solutions Architect to support a technology transformation program in the logistics sector. This role is based in Porto, with a hybrid model requiring presence in the office once per week, and focuses on scalable data product architecture, cloud-based data platforms and data mesh enablement for distributed technical and business teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Define reusable architecture patterns for data products within a cloud-based data mesh environment.

- Guide data product teams on infrastructure, tooling, processing approaches and integration practices.

- Support teams across the full delivery lifecycle, from early analysis and solution design to prototyping and production integration.

- Design scalable, maintainable and governed data flows covering ingestion, transformation, storage, access and utilization.

- Lead solution design discussions and document architecture decisions in a clear and reusable way.

- Balance consumer needs, source system constraints, business priorities and operational requirements.

- Promote modern data processing practices across globally distributed technical and business stakeholders.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Senior experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect or Solutions Architect in AWS cloud environments.

- Strong background in designing end-to-end data solutions for complex, scalable and maintainable data platforms.

- Experience working in DevOps-oriented delivery models with CI/CD, infrastructure as code and deployment best practices.

- Ability to translate complex technical decisions into clear architecture guidance for engineering and business audiences.

- Professional working proficiency in English, suitable for collaboration with international stakeholders.

- Autonomous, organized and able to maintain quality across frequent context changes.

- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to mentor, empower and support other professionals.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- AWS cloud environments.

- Data mesh architecture.

- Data product architecture patterns.

- Snowflake.

- Spark.

- Kafka.

- Stream processing using Spark Structured Streaming, Flink or Kafka Streams.

- Data pipelines, orchestration, batching, micro-batching and real-time streaming.

- CI/CD pipelines.

- Terraform and infrastructure as code.

- DevOps best practices.

- Data ingestion, transformation, storage, access and governance.

- Metadata management and data cataloguing.

- Event-driven architecture and domain-driven design.

- Asynchronous and synchronous API and interface design.

- Code modularity, testing and deployment considerations.

- Experience with reusable architecture documentation for distributed data product teams.
