Role Description The Data Specialist at Hive Design Group is a full-time remote role responsible for collecting, organizing, and maintaining data sets that inform design and business decisions. Day-to-day tasks include cleaning and validating data, performing data analysis, and preparing reports or dashboards that translate complex findings into clear insights for internal teams and clients. The role involves collaborating with designers, project managers, and leadership to ensure accurate data is available for planning and strategy, as well as building and refining data models to support forecasting and performance measurement. The Data Specialist will also help define data standards, document processes, and contribute to continuous improvements in data quality and workflow efficiency. This position requires strong attention to detail, comfort with digital tools, and the ability to work independently while communicating effectively in a remote environment.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strength in Data Analytics and Analytical Skills to interpret complex information and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Data Management, including data collection, cleaning, validation, and maintenance of structured datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Analysis using spreadsheets, BI tools, or statistical software to support reporting and decision-making.
  • Ability to develop and work with Data Modeling concepts to support forecasting, trend analysis, and performance measurement.
  • Familiarity with databases, query languages (e.g., SQL), and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar) is beneficial.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and accountability when working with confidential or sensitive data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment and comfort with collaboration tools and digital workflows.
