Do you enjoy turning complex data into trusted information that helps people make better decisions? Join us as a Data Steward and help improve the quality, governance and use of data across East Sussex County Council, supporting better services and outcomes for residents, partners and staff.

As Data Steward, you will work within IT & Digital alongside the Data Architect, Business Intelligence teams and colleagues across the Council. Your work will include investigating data-quality issues, agreeing improvements with system owners, maintaining data definitions and documentation, and helping colleagues understand their responsibilities for data. You will also support the Council’s transition from Tableau to Power BI and the implementation of Microsoft Fabric as a trusted corporate data platform.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience of using Power BI and/or Tableau, including creating and managing dashboards.
  • Can analyse, interpret and clearly present complex data while working in accordance with data-protection requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with technical and non-technical audiences, adapting complex information to suit different needs.
  • Work collaboratively and can build effective professional relationships across teams and services.
  • Can plan and organise a varied workload, investigate problems and deliver accurate work to short deadlines.

Please download the job description and person specification for more information.

We warmly welcome applications from all sections of the community. We particularly encourage applications from people who are currently underrepresented within the technology and data professions.
