Job Title: Data Verification Specialist
Monthly Pay: $3,484 - $5,204 USD per month
Summary:
Working in a CRM such as Salesforce and a database such as Microsoft Access, the Data Verification Specialist checks business contact entries and reference information so teams can use accurate, consistent data. This position sits within the administrative operations team and works under an operations team lead who guides priorities and reviews exceptions. The specialist works with data entry colleagues, internal requesters, and database administrators to clarify discrepancies and confirm corrections. This is a fully remote position offering work from home in Alabama, United States. The role requires a 40-hour weekly commitment. Working days and shift times may vary.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review incoming verification requests in a shared work queue, identify the requested checks, and organize assigned items according to team priorities and dependencies.
- Compare business contact entries and reference values against approved internal sources, checking names, business addresses, field formats, and required information for consistency.
- Use a CRM such as Salesforce to inspect existing entries, identify possible duplicates, and compare submitted updates with information already available to the team.
- Use a database such as Microsoft Access to filter assigned tables, compare related fields, and isolate mismatches without changing database structures or access settings.
- Check missing values, inconsistent categories, and conflicting details against written verification rules before deciding whether an entry can be corrected or needs clarification.
- Record the source checked, discrepancy identified, action taken, and remaining question in clear verification notes that another colleague can understand without repeating the review.
- Contact internal requesters when information is unclear, explain the specific mismatch, and follow up on outstanding questions within the turnaround expectations provided by the team.
- Escalate unresolved source conflicts and unusual patterns to the operations team lead, referring access or database issues to the database administrator through established channels.
- Apply confirmed corrections within assigned permissions, recheck affected fields, and return completed items to the requester with a concise explanation of the outcome.
- Maintain quality through accurate comparisons, timely completion, complete notes, and consistent follow-up; use review feedback to improve subsequent checks and reduce recurring errors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- About 1-2 years of data verification, data entry, or related administrative experience preferred, particularly work involving comparisons between business information sources.
- Familiarity with data verification, data reconciliation, and data auditing methods, including recognizing duplicates, missing values, inconsistent formatting, and conflicting source information.
- Working knowledge of a CRM such as Salesforce and a database such as Microsoft Access, including searching, filtering, and updating permitted fields.
- Understanding of database management fundamentals and information management practices that support consistent field definitions and traceable corrections.
- Basic data analysis skills to compare entries, identify repeated discrepancies, and summarize findings without making unsupported assumptions about missing information.
- Clear written communication, careful reading, and the ability to explain verification questions to internal colleagues while following established access and confidentiality expectations.
- A reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a quiet private workspace; availability for the 40-hour weekly commitment and agreed working days and shift times.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Perks & Benefits:
- Fully remote work from home in Alabama, United States.
- Structured onboarding and training on a CRM such as Salesforce and a database such as Microsoft Access.
